2011 Saskatchewan Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2011 Saskatchewan Scotties Tournament of Hearts was the 2011 Saskatchewan provincial women's curling championship, held January 26–30 at the Jim Kook Recreation Complex in Outlook, Saskatchewan, Canada. The winning team of Amber Holland represented Saskatchewan at the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Holland's team finished the round robin in first place at 9-2, going onto the 1-2 page playoff game, where they lost to team Canada. The team went on to the Semi-Final game, where they defeated Ontario moving on to the final. The team met Jennifer Jones (curler), Jennifer Jones and Team Canada once again, where in the 10th end of play, score tied, Canada with last rock, would steal the win, becoming the first Saskatchewan Team to win the Scotties since 1997 Scott Tournament of Hearts, 1997, when Sandra Schmirler won her final Scotties, before dying of cancer. Chantelle Eberle
Chantelle Dawn Eberle (born September 17, 1981 in Regina, Saskatchewan as Chantelle Seiferling) is a Canadian curler. Background Eberle was one of the top junior curlers in Saskatchewan during her junior career. In 2001, she won her lone provincial junior title, playing second for Stefanie Lawton (Miller). The team, which also included Stefanie's sister Marliese at third, and Chelsey Matson (Bell) at lead went undefeated at the 2001 Canadian Junior Curling Championships after the round robin. However, the team went up against another strong team in Prince Edward Island's Suzanne Birt (Gaudet). P.E.I beat the Saskatchewan four-some 5-3. Nancy Faye Martin (born February 17, 1973, in Rosetown, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler from Wakaw, Saskatchewan. She currently skips her own team out of Martensville. Career Women's career Martin has been curling competitively since the 2004–05 season. In the 2014–15 season, she joined the Jill Shumay rink at third, playing one season for the team. She skipped her own team from 2015 to 2018. Martin joined the Sherry Anderson rink for the 2018–19 season. Career Doig has been active on the World Curling Tour since the 2005–06 season, when she joined the Heather Rankin rink as her third. Roberta Materi (born April 6, 1975 in Regina, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler from White City, Saskatchewan. Life Materi has played with Michelle Englot off and on since 1997. She missed two seasons (2004–05 and 2005–06) since then to have children. Materi played in her first national championship when the rink qualified for the 2001 Scott Tournament of Hearts. The team finished with a 4-7 record, missing the playoffs. Later that year, the team finished 5-4 at the 2001 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials, also missing the playoffs. The team would not return to the Hearts until 2008, where the team finished 5-6, missing the playoffs again. Later that year, they picked up their only Grand Slam victory, winning the 2008 Casinos of Winnipeg Classic. Lana Vey (born April 6, 1984, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler from Regina, Saskatchewan. Vey had no prior national championship experience when she was picked up to play third for Jan Betker for the 2006–07 season to replace Sherry Linton. However, the team had quite a successful season, going all the way to the 2007 Scotties Tournament of Hearts final, but losing to Kelly Scott's rink in the final. After the season, Vey was picked up to play lead for the Stefanie Lawton rink. She would find success on that team as well. While they failed to win the provincial championship that year, they did qualify for the 2008 Canada Cup of Curling, which they won. The following season, the Lawton rink did win the provincial championship, and finished in fourth place at the 2009 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Victoria, British Columbia. Michelle Jennet Englot (born January 22, 1964 in Montmartre, Saskatchewan; formerly known as Michelle Ridgway and Michelle Schneider); is a Canadian curler from Regina, Saskatchewan. She is a nine-time provincial champion skip. Career Englot started curling at age twelve, and represented Saskatchewan at the 1983 Canada Winter Games, and at the 1983 Canadian Junior Women's Curling Championship. Englot won her first Saskatchewan Scott Tournament of Hearts provincial championship in 1988, she defeated Kathy Fahlman 10–0 in the final. This qualified Englot for her first Tournament of Hearts national championship. The Caledonian Curling Club, also known as the Callie, is a curling club located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Established in 1915, the club is among the oldest in the province and has been the home of many championship teams, including the Sandra Schmirler rink, which won three provincial, national, and world championships in the 1990s and the gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics.
