The A1 Ethniki (), often referred to as the Greek Volleyball League, is the highest professional volleyball league in Greece. It is run by the Hellenic Volleyball Federation. Panathinaikos VC
Panathinaikos V.C. (), also known simply as Panathinaikos, or with its full name Panathinaikos A.O. (, transliterated "Panathinaikos Athlitikos Omilos", ''Panathenaic Athletic Club'') is the professional volleyball team of the major Athens based multi-sport club Panathinaikos A.O. Founded in 1919, it is one of the oldest and most successful volleyball clubs in Greece. Andreas Andreadis (born 14 January 1982) is a Greek male volleyball player. He was part of the Greece men's national volleyball team at the 2006 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Japan. Olympiacos Men's Volleyball (, ), commonly referred to as Olympiacos, Olympiacos Piraeus or with its full name as Olympiacos SFP, is the men's professional volleyball department of the major Greek multi-sport club, Olympiacos SFP, based in Piraeus, Attica. The department was founded in 1926 and their home ground is the Melina Merkouri Indoor Hall in Agios Ioannis Rentis, Piraeus. Olympiacos is the most successful club in Greek volleyball history, having won 32 Greek Volley League titles, 19 Cups, 7 League Cups, all national records, and 3 Super Cups. Promotion And Relegation
Promotion and relegation is used by sports leagues as a process where teams can move up and down among divisions in a league system, based on their performance over a season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are sometimes called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in a lower division are ''promoted'' to a higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. During the season, teams that are high enough in the league table that they would qualify for promotion are sometimes said to be in the ''promotion zone'', and those at the bottom are in the ''relegation zone'' (colloquially the ''drop zone'' or ''facing the drop''). The BVA Cup ( Balkan Volleyball Association Cup) is a volleyball competition contested by the respective national volleyball championship winning teams of nations in the Balkans. The tournament was founded in 2008 under the auspices of the Balkan Volleyball Association. CEV Champions League
The CEV Champions League is the top official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. The competition is organised every year by the European Volleyball Confederation. Formula (2018–19 to present) Qualification A total of 20 teams participate in the main competition, with 18 teams being allocated direct vacancies on the basis of ranking list for European Cup Competitions, and 2 teams from the qualification rounds. League round 20 teams take part in the League round where they are split into 5 groups. After each match the following points are assigned: * Winner (3:0 or 3:1) – 3 points * Winner (3:2) – 2 points * Loser (2:3) – 1 point * Loser (1:3 or 0:3) – 0 points Each pool will be contested in a six-leg double round-robin home-and-away format.
