2010–11 Cypriot Cup For Lower Divisions
The 2010–11 Cypriot Cup for lower divisions was the 3rd edition of the Cypriot Cup for lower divisions. A total of 24 clubs entered the competition. It began on 27 October 2010 with the first round and concluded on 30 March 2011 with the final which was held at GSP Stadium. Ethnikos Assia won their 1st cup trophy after beating ENAD Polis Chrysochous 1–0 in the final. Format Only teams from the Cypriot Third Division and Cypriot Fourth Division could participate. Participation was not compulsory. 24 of 28 participated that season. The competition consisted of five rounds. In the first and in the second round each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of the one of the two teams, according to the draw results. Each tie winner was qualifying to the next round. If a match was drawn, extra time was following. Format It was created in the 2008–09 season by Cyprus Football Association. Participation in this cup is not compulsory, so the number of the clubs that participate is different each year. The competition is a knockout tournament. The matches in the first two rounds are single-legged and the matches in quarterfinals and semifinals are two-legged. The final is a single match played in neutral ground. The winner and the finalist of the cup are receiving a respectful amount of money by CFA as a bonus prize. Elpida Xylofagou is a Cypriot football club based in the village of Xylofagou in Larnaca district. The club, which was established in 1959, currently competes in the Cypriot Second Division, after a successful campaign in the Cypriot Third Division, from which it gains the promotion. Pervolia ( el, Περβόλια; tr, Bahçalar), also spelled Perivolia ( el, Περιβόλια), is a village located in the Larnaca District of Cyprus. History In ancient years, Pervolia was a resting place for kings and wealthy people in the area. It was named after Greek word ‘pervoli’ for its abundant gardens, fertile soil, and thousands of productive trees.
