2010–11 AS Roma Season
The 2010–11 season was Associazione Sportiva Roma's 83rd in existence and 78th season in the top flight of Italian football. Claudio Ranieri began his second season as coach, but resigned as manager on 20 February 2011. He was immediately replaced by Vincenzo Montella as a caretaker for the rest of the season. After a second-place finish in 2009–10, Roma hoped to improve their position to capture their fourth ''Scudetto'', but finished a disappointing sixth. Donieber Alexander Marangon (born 22 October 1979), known as Doni, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Doni is the elder brother of João Paulo Fernando Marangon. Doni also holds an Italian passport. His parental family came from Veneto and his grandmother came from Mantua. Club career Roma Doni joined Italian Serie A club Roma on 30 August 2005 from Juventude, after Roma paid his buy-out clause of approximately US$18,000. He signed a 1+3 year contract worth €300,000 in gross in the first year. 2009–10 Serie A
The 2009–10 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 108th season of top-tier Italian football, the 78th in a round-robin tournament. There were three promoted teams from the Serie B, replacing the three teams that were relegated following the 2008–09 season. Nike provided a new match ball – the T90 Ascente – for this season. Following the season, citing a larger television contract, the seventeen teams that survived the season and the three promoted sides formed a new league akin to England's Premier League.
