2010 Washington Mystics Season
The 2010 WNBA season is the 13th season for the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association. This season was the first that the Mystics won 20 games and had home court advantage to open a playoff series. They would not have home court again until the 2017 First Round. Julie Plank
Julie Plank is an American basketball coach, most recently of the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Career Previously, Julie Plank was the head coach of the Washington Mystics for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Plank joined the Mystics following a season with the Minnesota Lynx, assistant coaching Olympian Seimone Augustus and 2008 Sixth Player/Woman of the Year, Candice Wiggins. Prior to joining the Lynx coaching staff, Plank spent eight years with the Indiana Fever as an assistant coach and director of scouting. There she helped lead the team to four playoff appearances including the 2005 and 2007 Eastern Conference Finals. Plank served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Women’s National Team from 1999 through the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia and helped lead the U.S. to gold medal victories in the 1999 U.S. Olympic Cup and the 2000 Olympics. Kristen Mann
Kristen Cherie Mann (born August 10, 1983) is an former American professional basketball player who played in the WNBA. Childhood Born in Lakewood, California on August 10, 1983, Mann is the daughter of Kathy Deeds and Gene Mann. She has two brothers, Mack and Guy, and one sister, Payton, all younger than her. She went to Foothill High School, playing both basketball and softball. She played first and third base for her high school softball team, and the Foothill Knights won the state and national titles in 2000. Tulsa Shock
The Tulsa Shock were a professional basketball team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, playing in the Western Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team was founded in Detroit, Michigan before the 1998 WNBA season began; the team moved to Tulsa before the 2010 season. Katie Smith
Katie Smith (born June 4, 1974) is lead assistant coach for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She is the former head coach of the New York Liberty. A retired professional basketball player, Smith's primary position was shooting guard, although she sometimes played small forward or point guard. She was the all-time leading scorer in women's professional basketball, having achieved over 7000 points in both her ABL and WNBA career. In 2016, she was voted one of the WNBA Top 20@20. Monique Currie (born February 25, 1983) is a former American basketball player for the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She retired on February 26, 2019, and will now work for Nike. Currie was traded from the Chicago Sky during the 2007 season in exchange for Chasity Melvin. The Sky had selected her with the first pick of the 2007 WNBA Dispersal Draft from the roster of the defunct Charlotte Sting. Currie signed with the Phoenix Mercury on February 5, 2015. Anitra Necole "Nikki" Blue (born March 29, 1984) is an American professional basketball assistant coach for the Phoenix Mercury. High school Born and raised in Bakersfield, California, Blue played her high school career at West High School. Blue set the CIF Central Section record for points scored in a single season (913 in the 2000–01 season) and career (2,934 points). Blue averaged 29 points per game her senior year at West and lead Kern County in assist per game as well. Blue is regarded as the best player to ever come out of the CIF Central Section. However, due to the lack of talent around her, West High never won a section championship during Blue's career. Ashley Houts (born December 31, 1987) is an American professional basketball player most recently with the Washington Mystics of the WNBA. High school career Ashley Houts attended Dade County High School where she played basketball. During her attendance she was elected to play the McDonald's and WBCA High School All-American games and was also named second-team All-American by Parade and Sixth-team by Street & Smith's. She is a two-time All-American honoree who led the Georgia Metros to the 2005 national title in Orlando as well as the U.S. Junior Nationals in Washington, D.C.
