James Cerretani and Dick Norman were the defending doubles champions at the SA Tennis Open tournament, but Norman chose to not participate this year. Cerretani partnered up with Prakash Amritraj, but they lost in the first round 4–6, 6–7(6–8), against Eric Butorac and Rajeev Ram. Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi won in the final 6–2, 3–6, 0–5 against Karol Beck and Harel Levy. Rohan Bopanna ( ; born 4 March 1980) is an Indian professional tennis player. His singles career-high ranking was world No. 213 in 2007 and his career-high ranking in doubles was world No. 3 on 22 July 2013. He has been a member of the Indian Davis Cup team since 2002. Bopanna partnered with Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi in doubles in 2007. The duo, nicknamed the ''IndoPak Express'', went on to win four Challenger titles in quick succession. However, it was only in the 2010 season that the pair broke into the top-ten doubles teams. Xavier Malisse (born 19 July 1980) is a former Belgian professional tennis player. Born in the north-western Flemish city of Kortrijk and nicknamed ''X-Man'', he is one of only two Belgian men (the other being David Goffin) to have been ranked in the top 20 of the ATP Tour, with a career-high singles ranking of world No. 19. Nicolaas (Nikala) "Nik" Scholtz (born 5 February 1991) is a professional tennis player from Greyton, South Africa. Nicolaas qualified for the 2011 SA Tennis Open. Scholtz is the son of Calla Scholtz, a former rugby player who represented Western Province in South Africa's domestic competition, the Currie Cup, from 1982 to 1989 (a total of 116 matches).
