The 2010 Newfoundland and Labrador Tankard was the 2010 edition of the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Men's Curling Championship. Brad Gushue
Bradley Raymond Gushue, ONL ( ; born June 16, 1980) is a Canadian curler from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Gushue, along with teammates Russ Howard, Mark Nichols, Jamie Korab and Mike Adam, represented Canada in curling at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where they won the gold medal by defeating Finland 10–4. He also represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics, where he won a bronze medal. In addition to the Olympics, Gushue won the 2017 World Men's Curling Championship with teammates Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant, and Geoff Walker. He is a four-time Brier champion, having won in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2022, all with Nichols, Gallant and Walker. Their win in 2017 was Newfoundland and Labrador's first Brier title in 41 years. Jeff Staples (born March 4, 1975) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played in the American Hockey League (AHL) and International Hockey League (IHL). He was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the tenth round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. After completing his junior hockey career with the Brandon Wheat Kings, Staples played three seasons with the Flyers' top minor league affiliate, the first season with the Hershey Bears and two seasons with the Philadelphia Phantoms. After winning the Calder Cup with the Phantoms in 1998, Staples was traded to the expansion Nashville Predators along with Dominic Roussel for a 7th-round pick in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. Randolph Adolphus Turpin (7 June 1928 – 17 May 1966), better known as Randy Turpin, was a British boxer in the 1940s and 1950s. In 1951 he became world middleweight champion when he defeated Sugar Ray Robinson. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2001. Early life Randolph Turpin was born in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, to a black father Lionel who was born in British Guyana now known as Guyana in 1896. He had come to England to fight in the First World War. He had met Randolph's mother after coming out of hospital following treatment for his injuries sustained towards the end of the war. During his service he had fought at the battle of the Somme. He died within a year of Randolph's birth, having never really recovered from the lung damage caused by a gas attack. Alexander Douglas Smith (born May 7, 1984) is an American former quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 16 seasons. Smith played college football at Utah, where he received first-team All-American honors and won the 2005 Fiesta Bowl as a senior. Labrador City
Labrador City is a town in western Labrador (part of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador), near the Quebec border. With a population of 7,412 as of 2021, it is the second-largest population centre in Labrador, behind Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
