2009–10 Qatar Stars League
The 2009–10 Qatar Stars League season was the 37th edition of top-level football championship in Qatar, which started in September 2009 and ended in April 2010. League expansion Qatar Stars League slowly expanded since the turn of the decade, moving from 9 to 10 clubs and then latest setup of 12 clubs for this season campaign. There are 2 divisions in the Qatari football structure and the league has previously seen one club promoted and relegated each year except in 'expansion' years. It was announced on 15 April 2009 that no clubs would be relegated from the top flight in the '' 2008–09 Qatar Stars League'' season, due to expansion reasons. Qatar Stars League
The Qatar Stars League (; abbreviated as QSL), known as Ooredoo Stars League for sponsorship reasons, is the top level football league in Qatar football league system. Contested by 12 teams, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Qatari Second Division (QSD), with the lowest ranked club at the end of the QSL season being demoted to make room for the promotion of the highest ranked QSD club of the season. The QSL season usually runs from September to April. The league's first season was played in 1963, although the first official season occurred in 1972. Al-Arabi SC (Qatar)
Al-Arabi Sports Club () is a Qatari sports club based in the capital city Doha. Founded in 1952, the most prominent team of the club is the Association football, football team that competes in the Qatar Stars League. The club's home ground is the 44,400-seat Al Thumama Stadium, where they have played since 2023. Al-Arabi had their first major success in 1978, winning the Emir of Qatar Cup, followed by various titles during the 1980s and 1990s. The club enjoyed their greatest period of success in those two decades, winning 17 major trophies. Domestically, Al-Arabi have won seven league titles, eight Emir of Qatar Cups, one Qatar Crown Prince Cup and six Qatar Sheikh Jassem Cups. Al Rayyan
Al Rayyan (; also spelled ''Ar Rayyan'') is the third-largest municipalities of Qatar, municipality in Qatar. Bertrand Marchand
Bertrand Marchand (27 April 1953 – 26 August 2023) was a French football player and manager. Career After playing professionally for Rennes Marchand was player-coach then coach at Thouars Foot 79 from 1982 to 1997. Then he was at Rennes (educator at the training center then assistant coach) and at Guingamp (Ligue 1), where he directed the players of the first team of 2002 to 2004. Marchand also trained in Tunisia with Club Africain and ES Sahel, club based in Sousse with which, in 2007, he won the 2007 CAF Champions League and reached the semi-final of the 2007 FIFA Club World Cup in Japan. Al Khor (; also spelled ''Al Khawr''), officially Al Khor and Al Thakhira, is a Municipalities of Qatar, municipality in northeastern Qatar. Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium
The new Ahmad bin Ali Stadium (), popularly known as Al-Rayyan Stadium, is an association football stadium located in the district of Rawdat Al Jahhaniya, Qatar, around northwest from the centre of Al Rayyan. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is home to Al-Rayyan Sports Club. The stadium is named after Ahmad bin Ali Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar from 1960 to 1972. The former stadium, built in 2003, had a seating capacity of 21,282 and was demolished in 2015. The new Al Rayyan Stadium has a seating capacity of 45,032. Al Kharaitiyat () is a town in the municipality of Umm Salal in Qatar. Etymology "Kharaitiyat" is the plural form of the Arabic term "khurat", which roughly translates to "map-like". Luiz Carlos Sarolli (8 March 1965 – 28 November 2016), known as Caio Júnior or Caio Jr., was a Brazilian football forward and coach. He spent his 14-year professional career in Brazil and Portugal, notably amassing Primeira Liga totals of 140 games and 31 goals in the latter nation in representation of three teams, mainly Vitória de Guimarães.
