The 2009–10 FC Shakhtar Donetsk season saw the club win their fifth Ukrainian Premier League. Football Club Shakhtar Donetsk () is a Ukrainian professional Association football, football club that was based in the city of Donetsk until 2014 when, due to the War in Donbas (2014–2022), War in Donbas, the club was forced to move to Lviv, and played matches in Lviv (2014–2016) and in Kharkiv (2017–2020) whilst having its office headquarters and training facilities in Kyiv. During the 2008–09 Ukrainian football season, FC Shakhtar Donetsk competed in the Ukrainian Premier League. Season summary Though Shakhtar failed to retain the league or cup, they made up for it by becoming the first Ukrainian team to win the UEFA Cup, defeating Werder Bremen in the final after extra time. This season was the last played at RSC Olimpiyskiy. From the 2009–10 season onwards, Shakhtar played in the Donbas Arena. Rustam Makhmudkulovych Khudzhamov (; born 5 October 1982, in Skvyra, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union) is a Ukrainian retired football goalkeeper. The 2008–09 Ukrainian Premier League season was the eighteenth since its establishment. The league was restructured and split off from the Professional Football League of Ukraine.
