The 2009 Women's South American Volleyball Championship was the 28th edition of the Women's South American Volleyball Championship, organised by South America's governing volleyball body, the Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol (CSV). It was held in Porto Alegre, Brazil from September 30 to October 4, 2009. Porto Alegre
Porto Alegre (, ; , ; ) is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian Federative units of Brazil, state of Rio Grande do Sul. 9 (nine) is the natural number following and preceding . Evolution of the Hindu–Arabic digit Circa 300 BC, as part of the Brahmi numerals, various Indians wrote a digit 9 similar in shape to the modern closing question mark without the bottom dot. The Kshatrapa, Andhra and Gupta started curving the bottom vertical line coming up with a -look-alike. How the numbers got to their Gupta form is open to considerable debate. The Nagari continued the bottom stroke to make a circle and enclose the 3-look-alike, in much the same way that the sign @ encircles a lowercase ''a''. As time went on, the enclosing circle became bigger and its line continued beyond the circle downwards, as the 3-look-alike became smaller. Soon, all that was left of the 3-look-alike was a squiggle. The Arabs simply connected that squiggle to the downward stroke at the middle and subsequent European change was purely cosmetic. Yael Castiglione (born 27 September 1985) is a retired Argentine volleyball player. Leyla Chihuán
Leyla Felícita Chihuán Ramos (born September 4, 1975) is a Peruvian politician and former volleyball player of Afro-Peruvian descent, who twice represented her native country at the Summer Olympics. In 2011, she entered politics, serving as a Congresswoman until the dissolution of Congress in September 2019. Camila de Paula Brait (born October 28, 1988) is a Brazilian volleyball player from Frutal, Brazil, who plays as a libero. She currently defends Osasco Voleibol Clube and is retired from the Brazilian national team. Brait won the silver medal while representing Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Career Brait started her career defending URS/Sacramento. After that; she played in several other teams, which were SESI/Uberlândia, Praia Clube-MG, São Caetano/MonBijou and Osasco, named Finasa/Osasco at the time she joined the club.
