2009 Taini Jamison Trophy Series
The 2009 Taini Jamison Trophy Series, also referred to as the New World Series, was the second Taini Jamison Trophy series. It featured New Zealand national netball team, New Zealand playing a World Netball, World 7 in a series of three Test match (netball), netball test matches, played in August 2009. The World 7 won the opening test 48–44. They then went 2–0 up by winning the second test 53–44. This confirmed the World 7 as winners of the Taini Jamison Trophy. New Zealand won the third test 46–41 to see the series finish 2–1. The New Zealand team were coached by Ruth Aitken and captained by Casey Williams. TV One (New Zealand)
TVNZ 1 () is the first national television channel owned and operated by the state-owned broadcaster Television New Zealand (TVNZ). It is the oldest television broadcaster in New Zealand, starting out from 1960 as independent channels in the four main centres of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, networking in 1969 to become NZBC TV (although the individual facilities retained their call signs into the 1970s). The network was renamed Television One (TV ONE, stylized as oɴe) in 1975 upon the break-up of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation, and became a part of TVNZ in 1980 when Television One and South Pacific Television (now sister channel TVNZ 2) merged. Southern Steel (netball)
Southern Steel are a netball in New Zealand, New Zealand netball team based in Invercargill. Between 2008 ANZ Championship season, 2008 and 2016 ANZ Championship season, 2016, they played in the ANZ Championship. Since 2017 ANZ Premiership season, 2017 they have represented Netball South in the ANZ Premiership. Netball South is the governing body that represents Southland, New Zealand, Southland and Otago. In 2017 they won their first premiership when they were the inaugural ANZ Premiership winners. In 2018 ANZ Premiership season, 2018 they won their second premiership when they retained the title. Maria Tutaia
Solonaima Maria Folau (née Tuta'ia; born 18 February 1987 in Tokoroa, New Zealand) is a retired New Zealand netball player. She played regularly for the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns. Early life Folau was born Solonaima Maria Tuta'ia in Tokoroa on 18 February 1987, the daughter of Fuisami Tuta'ia, a forestry worker, and his wife, Niukini, a homemaker, who in 1983 had moved to New Zealand from Samoa. She was named for her grandmothers, Solonaima and Malia, and she began using her middle name when she entered school as her teacher had difficulty pronouncing her first name. Maria Tuta'ia was an attendee of Lynfield College but in the final year of it, transferred to Mount Albert Grammar School. Anna Thompson (netball)
Anna Kennedy (born 18 June 1986 in Christchurch, New Zealand) is a New Zealand netball player. Kennedy plays in the ANZ Championship for the Canterbury Tactix. In 2009, she was named as a member of the Silver Ferns squad. She was included in the FastNet Ferns the following year, and was called back into the Silver Ferns for 2011 as cover for injured vice-captain Temepara George. She made the team for the 2011 Netball World Championships after Cathrine Latu was ruled ineligible. She has been in and out of the Silver Ferns team, most recently she played in the first leg of the 2012 Netball Quad Series. Laura Langman
Laura Robyn Langman (born 16 April 1986) is a retired New Zealand international netball player, who last played domestic netball for the Sunshine Coast Lightning in the Australian Super Netball league. Primarily a midcourt player, Langman is a former captain and vice-captain of the New Zealand national netball team (nicknamed the Silver Ferns). She is the most capped player in the history of the Silver Ferns, having overtaken Irene van Dyk's record of 145 test matches in October 2018. Joline Henry
Joline Henry (born 29 September 1982 in Whanganui, New Zealand) is a New Zealand former netball player. Henry was a member of the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns, and has played for the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic (2008–2009) and the Northern Mystics (2010–2011) in the ANZ Championship. Central Pulse are a New Zealand netball team based in Wellington. Between 2008 and 2016, they played in the ANZ Championship. Since 2017 they have represented Netball Central in the ANZ Premiership. Paula Griffin
Paula Griffin (born 11 July 1988 in Auckland, New Zealand) is a New Zealand netball player of Samoan descent. Griffin was named in the New Zealand U21 team for 2006. That year, she also signed with the Auckland Diamonds to play in the National Bank Cup. She also joined the Silver Ferns squad in September 2006, and the following year made her on-court debut against Jamaica at the 2007 World Netball Championships in Auckland, where the Silver Ferns came in second behind Australia. With the start of the ANZ Championship in 2008, Griffin signed with Auckland-based franchise, the Northern Mystics. Katrina Grant
Katrina Rore (née Grant; born 6 May 1987 in Papakura, Auckland, New Zealand) is a New Zealand international netball player. Rore is a previous captain of the New Zealand national netball team, the Silver Ferns, and plays for the Central Pulse in the ANZ Championship. Rore signed to the New South Wales Swifts in the Suncorp Super Netball league in the latter half of the 2018–2019 season following the Netball World Cup. Temepara George
Temepara Anne Bailey (formerly Clark, née George; born 23 October 1975 in Auckland) is a New Zealand international netball player of Samoan and Māori descent. She was a member of the Silver Ferns national squad in 1996, and from 2000–2011. George retired from international duties after the 2011 World Netball Championships in Singapore. She played domestic netball in the ANZ Championship as captain of the Northern Mystics. Since the inaugural season, George has taken part in every quarter for the Mystics. Waikato Bay Of Plenty Magic
Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic are a New Zealand netball team based in Hamilton. The team were formed in 1998, following the merger of Waikato Wildcats and Bay of Plenty Magic. In 1997, Wildcats and Magic had been founder members of the Coca-Cola Cup/National Bank Cup league. Between 1999 and 2007, the new team continued to play in the league. Magic are the only team from the Coca-Cola Cup/National Bank Cup era to have retained their original name. Between 2008 and 2016, they played in the ANZ Championship.
