2009 Super 14 Season
The 2009 Super 14 season kicked off in February 2009 with pre-season matches held from mid-January. It finished on 30 May, when the Bulls won their second Super Rugby title with a decisive 61–17 victory over the Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld stadium in Pretoria, South Africa. The 2009 season was the fourth of the expansion, which led to the name change to the Super 14. The schedule, which covered 3½ months, featured a total of 94 matches, with each team playing one full round-robin against the 13 other teams, two semi-finals and a final. Round-robin Tournament

Western Force
The Western Force is an Australian professional rugby union team based in Perth, Western Australia, currently competing in Super Rugby, Super Rugby Pacific. They previously played in Super Rugby from 2006 until they were axed from the competition in 2017. Following their axing they played in the National Rugby Championship in 2018 and 2019, replacing the Perth Spirit, and Global Rapid Rugby from 2018 to 2020, an Indo-Pacific competition organised by Andrew Forrest. Adam Ashley-Cooper
Adam Ashley-Cooper (born 27 March 1984) is a former Australian people, Australian rugby union player who last played for the LA Giltinis of Major League Rugby (MLR). He has played in 121 matches for Australia national rugby union team, Australia, the third most of any Australia player at the time of his retirement. His nickname is "Mr. Versatile". Stirling Mortlock
Stirling Austin Mortlock (born 20 May 1977) is an Australian former professional rugby union player. He has scored more than 1,000 points in Super Rugby, and nearly 500 test points for the Wallabies. Mortlock is a former Wallaby, Melbourne Rebels and Brumbies captain. Early life Born in Sydney, Mortlock began playing rugby with Lindfield Juniors. Mortlock was educated at The King's School in Parramatta Sydney. He represented Gordon Juniors at Colt level and still represents Gordon at club level today. Jason Rutledge
Jason Rutledge (born 15 December 1977) is a New Zealand rugby union player who played provincial rugby for Southland, and was in the Super Rugby team the Highlanders. Rutledge is widely known as New Zealands best hooker to have never played for the All Blacks. His nickname is Cabbage. Jason Rutledge has played 999 first class rugby union games and is rumoured to play his 1,000th game for the Hurricanes on Saturday the 27th of April 2024. Jason is the son of 1978-1980 All Black Leicester Rutledge who also played over 100 matches for Southland from 1972 to 1983. Christopher King (born 30 April 1981) is a New Zealand rugby union player Early life King was born in Ashburton. He attended St Andrew's College from 1995 to 1999 during which time he played for the First XV for three years. King captained the team in his final year. Career Provincial rugby King started his career in 2002 for Canterbury and was a regular in the squad throughout 2003 and 2004. After the 2004 NPC he was loaned to the Highlanders and Otago. Daniel Bowden
Daniel Russell Bowden (born 1 April 1986) is a New Zealand rugby union player, currently playing for in the Mitre 10 Cup. Bowden played three seasons for the Northland Taniwha in the National Provincial Championship. He debuted at the age of 18, earning player of the year in 2007. Bowden transferred from Northland to for the 2008 Air New Zealand Cup, where he played in eight games. His first match was on 9 August 2008 in Dunedin when he came off the bench against and kicked a penalty. Bowden went on to score 41 points in total for Otago in 2008. Bowden then signed a two-year contract with the Auckland Rugby Union. He said the decision to move north was based solely on wanting to get back to be with his family and girlfriend, Football Ferns captain Hayley Moorwood. Fetu'u Moana Vainikolo (born 30 January 1985) is a Tongan rugby union player who for the Utah Warriors in Major League Rugby (MLR). His regular playing position is Wing. Early life Born in Tonga, Vainikolo's family moved to New Zealand in 1997 when he was 12. He moved through rugby age group levels in Auckland before moving to the Wellsford club in Northland in 2007. Club career New Zealand Vainikolo made his debut in the 2007 Air New Zealand Cup, scoring five tries in just 10 matches to earn himself a Super Rugby contract. Jason Shoemark (born 5 February 1981) is a professional rugby union player who last played as a centre for the Hawke's Bay in the ITM Cup. Playing career New Zealand Shoemark made his provincial debut for Northland while still a teenager and quickly made a name for himself, emerging as a key player for the Taniwha. By 2002, he received a Super Rugby contract with the Blues, making 5 appearances and scoring a try. However, his opportunities were more limited with the Blues in 2003, as he was limited to just a single substitute appearance. Looking to jumpstart his career, Shoemark moved south in 2004 to join Otago and the Highlanders. The Lions (known as the Emirates Lions for sponsorship reasons) is a South African professional rugby union team based in Johannesburg in the Gauteng province.
