2009 Speedway Grand Prix Of Great Britain
The 2009 FIM Speedway World Championship Grand Prix of Great Britain was the fifth race of the 2009 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on 27 June 2009 in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Great Britain. The British Grand Prix was won by GP leader Jason Crump who beat Fredrik Lindgren, Hans Andersen and Greg Hancock in the final. Crump won with a 24-point maximum score and it was his third Grand Prix win of the season. Riders One wild card and two track reserves were nominated by the Auto-Cycle Union. Edward Kennett was selected as the wild card after finishing second behind Chris Harris at the 2009 British Speedway Championship. Tai Woffinden and Simon Stead will be the track reserves. Grzegorz Walasek
Grzegorz Walasek (born 29 August 1976) is a Polish motorcycle speedway rider who has competed in the Speedway Grand Prix series and earned 15 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Born in Krosno Odrzańskie, Poland, Walasek began his senior career in 1993 with ZKŻ Zielona Góra, and won the Polish Under-21 Championship in 1997. In 2000, he began riding in the UK with Poole Pirates. In 2004, he won the senior Polish individual championship. He was part of the Polish team that won the Speedway World Cup in 2005 and 2007. Andreas Karl Rune Jonsson (born 3 September 1980 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish former international motorcycle speedway rider. He was a member of the Sweden speedway team that won the World Cup in 2003, 2004 and 2015. He earned 26 caps for the Sweden national speedway team. Emil Damirovich Sayfutdinov (; born 26 October 1989) is a motorcycle speedway rider from Russia. He is a member of the Russia national speedway team. He is a three times World team champion, twice World Junior champion and a two-time winner of the European Championships in 2014 and 2015. Career history Sayfutdinov gained his speedway licence in 2005, just before his 16th birthday. He started his career in the Russian league with Mega-Lada Togliatti and won the Russian Champion title. Kenneth Bjerre Jensen (born 24 May 1984 in Esbjerg, Denmark) is a Danish international motorcycle speedway rider. He earned 17 caps for the Denmark national speedway team. Career Bjerre began his Polish league career in 2001 for Ostrów. The following season he began his career in Britain when he joined the Newcastle Diamonds for the 2002 Premier League speedway season. Rune Holta
Rune Holta (born 29 August 1973 in Stavanger, Norway) is a speedway rider. He grew up in Randaberg, Norway, but has been a Polish citizen since 2002. Career In 1994, Holta finished runner-up to Mikael Karlsson in the final of the 1994 Speedway Under-21 World Championship following a run-off for the title. This was the same year that Holta won the first of his four Norwegian Individual Speedway Championships. In 2002, he took Polish citizenship, allowing him to represent Poland in international competitions and was a member of their Speedway World Cup winning teams in 2005, 2007 and 2010. Nicki Pedersen
Nicki Pedersen (born 2 April 1977) is a Danish motorcycle speedway rider. He is a three time world champion having won the World Championship in 2003, 2007 and 2008. He has also won the World Cup with Denmark in 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014. Career Pedersen began speedway racing aged 11 at Danish club Fjelsted. He stayed at the club until a move to in 1998 to Holstebro, the same year that he made his British league debut with Newcastle Diamonds in the 1998 Premier League speedway season. He topped the League averages which began his journey towards the pinnacle of the sport. He started his Polish speedway career in 1999 with Polish Speedway First League club Start Gniezno and would go on to ride for ten different Polish sides. Sebastian Ułamek (born 20 November 1975) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. He was a European individual Champion and earned 9 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Ułamek rode in the Polish leagues for his home club Włókniarz Częstochowa from 1992 until 1998 and then Wybrzeże Gdańsk, Gdańsk from 1999 to 2000 (the 2000 season was in the Ekstraliga (speedway), Ekstraliga).
