2009 New York Sentinels Season
The 2009 New York Sentinels season was the first and only season for the New York Sentinels. In the United Football League's Premiere Season, the Sentinels went winless by posting a 0–6 record, finishing in fourth place. Draft The draft took place on June 19, 2009. Those selected were among participants in earlier workouts held in Orlando as well as Las Vegas. Once a player was picked by a team, his rights were held by that team should he elect to play in the UFL. Ted Cottrell
Theodore John Cottrell (born June 13, 1947) is an American football coach and former player. He was formerly the defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, Minnesota Vikings, and the San Diego Chargers in the National Football League (NFL). In 2009, he served as head coach for the New York Sentinels of the United Football League (UFL). Ten years later, he was the linebackers coach for the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football (AAF), and worked as the defensive coordinator for the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL in 2020. Playing career Cottrell started at Delaware Valley College from 1965 to 1968. He was a seventh-round draft pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 1969 NFL Draft and played linebacker for two seasons. Richard Clebert
Richard Clebert (born November 15, 1985) is a former American football defensive lineman. He played college football at South Florida. High school career A native of Miami, Clebert attended Miami Edison Senior High School. He was part of the "Edison Five" who signed with South Florida in 2004, along with running back Chad Simpson, tackle Marc Dile, and receiver Jackie Chambers. Regarded as a three-star recruit, he was listed as the No. 50 defensive tackle available in his class. College career Clebert was a three-year starter at nose tackle for South Florida. Brian Johnson (quarterback)
Brian Delance Johnson (born February 16, 1987) is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the quarterbacks coach for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). Samuel Gutekunst
Samuel Gutekunst (born May 20, 1984) is a German former American football offensive tackle. Gutekunst has also been a member of the Frankfurt Galaxy, Berlin Thunder, Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks. Gutekunst started his career with the Heiligenstein Crusaders in Heiligenstein, Germany. After being scouted for the Rheinland Pfalz / Saarland junior all-star team, he transferred to the Saarland Hurricanes where he played for the GFL-juniors in 2003 and subsequently for the seniors in the GFL throughout the 2005 season. Eastern Oregon University
Eastern Oregon University (EOU) (officially designated as Oregon’s Rural University) is a public university in La Grande, Oregon. It was formerly part of the Oregon University System, since dissolved. Tyrone Gross (born May 14, 1983 in Stockton, California) is a former American football running back. He was signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2006.
