2009 FIFA Confederations Cup Squads
The following is a list of squads for each nation who competed at the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa from 14 June to 28 June 2009, as a prelude to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Each squad consisted of 23 players, three of which had to be goalkeepers. Replacement of injured players was permitted until 24 hours before the team's game. 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup
The 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup was the eighth Confederations Cup, and was held in South Africa from 14 June to 28 June 2009, as a prelude to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The draw was held on 22 November 2008 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The opening match was played at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg. The tournament was won by Brazil, who retained the trophy they won in 2005 by defeating the United States 3–2 in the final. Ali Hussein Rehema Al-Mutairi ( ar, علي حسين رحيمة المطيري, born on 8 August 1985) is an Iraqi former footballer. He has represented the Iraq national football team. Career Since playing every minute of Iraq's title-winning campaign at the 2007 AFC Asian Cup, Ali Rehema has established his status as one of the team's defensive stalwarts. Al-Khor Sports Club ( ar, نادي الخور الرياضي) is a Qatari professional sports club based in Al Khor, featuring teams in a number of sports including football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, table tennis and swimming. Salam Shaker Ali Dad ( ar, سلام شاكر علي داد , born 31 July 1986) is a former Iraqi professional footballer of who played for Al-Talaba. He played for the Iraq national football team until 2016. He was part of the Iraqi team that finished fourth in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. Salam was first called up to the Iraqi B team in the 2007 King's Cup. Karrar Jassim Mohammed Al-Mahmoudi ( ar, كرار جاسم محمد المحمودي, born 11 June 1987) known as Karrar Jassim, is an Iraqi professional footballer, who plays as a midfielder most recently for Naft Al-Wasat in the Iraqi Premier League. Al-Zawraa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الزوراء الرياضي) is an Iraqi sports club based in Utayfia, Karkh District (near Tigris River), Baghdad. Their football team compete in the Iraqi Premier League, the top-flight of Iraqi football. Al-Zawraa are the most decorated club in Iraq having won 14 Premier League titles, 16 Iraq FA Cups and 5 Iraqi Super Cups, all national records. Hawar Mulla Mohammed Taher Zebari ( ku, هەوار مەلا محەمەد تاهر زێبارى; ar, هوار ملا محمد طاهر زيباري; born 1 June 1981) is an Iraqi former professional footballer. Younis Mahmoud
Younis Mahmoud Khalaf ( ar, يونس محمود خلف; born 3 February 1983) is an Iraqi former professional footballer who played as a forward for the Iraq national football team and is currently the second vice-president of the Iraq Football Association. One of the country's greatest ever players, Mahmoud captained the team for ten straight years and became an icon of Asian football. He also played for a number of clubs including teams in Iraq, UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, winning three Golden Boots in Qatar and breaking numerous records.
