2009 Chicago Sky Season
The 2009 WNBA season is the 4th for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association. Steven Key returned as coach - marking the first time in franchise history that the Sky did not have to hire a new coach after 1 year. The Sky received the 3rd Overall pick in the 2009 WNBA draft and used it on Maryland guard Kristi Toliver. Steven Key
Steven Key (born May 14, 1968) is an American professional basketball coach and former professional player. Career Key attended Atholton High School in Columbia, Maryland, and was named the 1986 Howard County Player of the Year. He was a four-year letter winner at Boston University (1986–90), garnering America East Conference Player of the Year honors in 1990. He also received the Lou Cohen Award as BU's Most Valuable Player the same year. In 1990, Key was close to making the roster of the Los Angeles Clippers and then played for the San Jose Jammers in the 1990-91 Continental Basketball Association (CBA) season, before taking his game overseas. Katharen Ruth Mattera ( Feenstra; born November 17, 1982) is an American college basketball coach and former player for the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Tamera "Ty" Young (born October 30, 1986) is a former American basketball player who is currently a free agent. After playing collegiately for James Madison University, Young was drafted by the Atlanta Dream with the 8th overall pick of the 2008 WNBA Draft. Atlanta Dream
The Atlanta Dream are an American professional basketball team based in Atlanta, playing in the Eastern Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team was founded for the 2008 WNBA season. The team is owned by real estate investors Larry Gottesdiener, Suzanne Abair and former Dream player Renee Montgomery. Although the Dream share the Atlanta market with the National Basketball Association's Hawks, the Dream is not affiliated with its NBA counterpart. Mistie McCray Bass (born December 2, 1983) is an American professional women's basketball player who is currently a free agent. High school career Bass graduated from George S. Parker High School in Janesville in 2002, having helped the school win the state championship two years in a row. Armintie Ada (Price) Herrington (born April 3, 1985) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Elizabeth Ann Moeggenberg (born Shimek May 25, 1984 in Empire, Michigan) was drafted by the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA, was then traded to the Houston Comets and then weeks later traded to the Chicago Sky where she played for two seasons.
