2008–09 Syracuse Orange Men's Basketball Team
The 2008–09 Syracuse Orange men's basketball team represented Syracuse University in the 2008–09 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The head coach was Jim Boeheim, serving for his 33rd year. The team played its home games at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York. Jim Boeheim
James Arthur Boeheim Jr. ( ; born November 17, 1944) is an American former college basketball coach and current Special Assistant to the Athletic Director at Syracuse University. From 1976 until 2023, he was the head coach of the Syracuse Orange men's basketball, Syracuse Orange men's team of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Boeheim guided the Orange to ten Big East Conference regular season championships, five Big East men's basketball tournament, Big East tournament championships, and 34 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament appearances, including five Final Four appearances and three appearances in the national title game. Kris Joseph
Kristopher Carlos Joseph (born December 17, 1988) is a Canadian former professional basketball player. He played for the Syracuse Orange men's basketball team from 2008 to 2012. He was selected in the second round of the 2012 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics with the 51st pick overall. He is the older cousin of Pistons point guard Cory Joseph. Early years Joseph was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, where he grew up in the working-class neighbourhood of Cote-des-Neiges north of downtown. James Southerland
James Southerland III (born April 28, 1990) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Wellington Saints of the New Zealand National Basketball League (NBL). He played college basketball for Syracuse. High school career Southerland played for Coach Ron Naclerio at Cardozo High School. He participated in the 2006 Reebok ABCD Camp (N.J.). Theodore Todd "Mookie" Jones IV (born February 22, 1990) is a 6'6", 190 lbs. forward who played basketball for the Syracuse Orange from 2008–2011. Early life In his senior season at Peekskill High School, Jones averaged 20.1 points per game and was named to the 2008 First-Team Journal News Westchester/Putnam All-Star team. Antonio Stephen "Scoop" Jardine (born August 9, 1988) is an American former professional basketball player who last played for the Niagara River Lions of the NBL Canada. Wesley JaMarr Johnson (born July 11, 1987) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is a player development assistant for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
