The 2008–09 Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team was a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I (NCAA), Division I college basketball team representing Oakland University. Oakland was picked to finish third in The Summit League's preseason poll. was voted to finish first and 2008–09 North Dakota State Bison men's basketball team, North Dakota State second. However, only eight votes separated the three teams. Senior forward Derick Nelson and junior guard Johnathon Jones were named to the Preseason All-League First Team. Greg Kampe
Greg Charles Kampe (; born December 9, 1955) is an American college basketball coach and the current head men's basketball coach at Oakland University. He guided the Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball, Golden Grizzlies to their first NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, NCAA Division I tournament in 2005 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 2005, winning in the First Four round. Kampe, a member of the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, is one of nine Division I basketball coaches who have been at the same school for at least 25 seasons. Kampe won The Summit League's coach of the year four times, the most recent being in 2010 and 2011. Kampe won his 500th career game January 26, 2013. Clarkston High School is a public high school located in Independence Township, Michigan. It is the only high school in the Clarkston Community Schools. History Clarkston High School used to be in Clarkston, Michigan. The third Clarkston School was built in 1910 on Main Street (M-15). By the time the fourth Clarkston School was completed in 1930 in Independence Township, the area's population had started to decline. After World War II, Independence Township's population began to boom. In 1952, Clarkston Community Schools was formed and Clarkston and Andersonville Elementary Schools were completed, leaving the 6th-to-12th graders as sole occupants at the newly renamed Clarkston High School. DeWitt is a city in Clinton County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,776 at the 2020 census. The city is located north of Interstate 69 and west of U.S. Route 127, just north of the city of Lansing. History DeWitt was named after DeWitt Clinton, Governor of New York during the 1820s. It was first settled by Captain David Scott, who moved there from Ann Arbor in 1833, and platted the land. The State Legislature formally created DeWitt Township on March 23, 1836. William Robert Hudson (born March 30, 1989) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Oakland University where he broke the school record with 137 games played and 345 offensive rebounds. Romeo is a village in Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,767 at the 2020 census. Romeo is located on the rural-urban fringe of the Detroit metropolitan area, and many of its residents commute to jobs closer to the city. History A settlement here was originally occupied by the indigenous Chippewa (Ojibwe), an Algonquian-speaking people who were part of a large language family of tribes extending to the Atlantic Coast. Those tribes around the Great Lakes are thought to have migrated to this area by the 12th century. The early European-American settlers in this area referred to the Chippewa settlement as "Indian Village".
