2008–09 Charlton Athletic F.C. Season
During the 2008–09 English football season, Charlton Athletic competed in the Football League Championship. It was their second consecutive season at this level since relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2006–07 season. Season summary Charlton were tipped to make a strong challenge for promotion, but it all went wrong for the Addicks and by the time manager Alan Pardew was sacked in November the club was in serious danger of a second relegation in three seasons. He was replaced with former Colchester United manager Phil Parkinson, but he was unable to save Charlton from falling into English football's third tier for the first time since 1981, coming in last place, 12 points adrift of safety. Kelly Youga
Kelly Alexandra Youga (born 22 September 1985) is a Central African retired footballer. Club career Youth and Charlton Athletic Born in Bangui, Youga began his career at French club Olympique Lyonnais. He transferred to Charlton Athletic on a free transfer in July 2005 after finishing his school exams. Before playing a game for Charlton, in October 2005 he was loaned to Bristol City, where he played four times for the first team. In 2007, he was loaned to Bradford City until the end of the 2006–07 season, playing 11 times for the club before his loan spell was cut short by injury, as they were relegated from League One. In summer 2007 he turned down a second loan to the club. He subsequently joined newly promoted Championship side Scunthorpe United on a six-month loan deal. He played for Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Sunderland and Darlington, while he also represented Scotland 32 times. Andrew David Gray (born 15 November 1977) is a former professional footballer. Andy Gray started his career as a midfield player but later moved into a forward position. Gray began his career with Leeds United and he later played for Nottingham Forest, Charlton Athletic, Bury, Preston North End, Oldham Athletic, Barnsley, Bradford City, Sheffield United, Sunderland and Burnley. Matthew Rhys Holland (born 11 April 1974) is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is a director and club ambassador at Ipswich Town.
