Klovn
''Klovn'' ("Clown") is a Danish sitcom, which first aired on the Danish TV channel TV2 Zulu. It focuses on the life of the main character Frank (played by Frank Hvam) and Casper (played by Casper Christensen). The show builds its comedy around quiet everyday situations, social awkwardness, uncomfortable silences and general faux pas. ''Klovn'' shares many concepts with the American sitcom ''Curb Your Enthusiasm'' by Larry David, notably the main concept of a semi-retired comedian encountering humorous and embarrassing situations, along with his wife, friends and celebrity acquaintances. The show is also held in a pseudo-realistic style where all lines are retroscripted, so a first-time viewer might be in doubt of whether or not the show is staged. Even the score is similar. BBC HD (international)
BBC HD was an international high-definition television channel owned by BBC Studios. In many countries the channel has been replaced by other BBC Studios operations. At present, the channel is only available in selected cruise ships and within the maritime industry. It first launched in Australia. An Australian version of BBC HD was broadcast on the Foxtel HD+ service which was made available to subscribers on 2 June 2008 and was officially launched on 22 June 2008. On 15 November 2009 it was replaced on Foxtel HD+ by UKTV HD. During the first broadcast of BBC World News America, it was announced that BBC America HD would be launched in 2008. TV3 Puls is television channel broadcasting to Denmark. It started broadcasting March 23, 2008. Among the programmes broadcast on the channel from its launch are series such as ''Mad Men'' and ''Pushing Daisies'', lifestyle programmes and sports events such as Formula 1. VH1 (Danish TV Channel)
VH1 was a music channel in Denmark operated by Paramount Networks EMEAA. The channel launched at 22:00 on 15 March 2008, replacing VH1 Europe. It was the last remaining European version of VH1, following the closure of the Italian version on 7 January 2024, until it closed on 1 April 2024, effectively retiring the brand in Europe. Background Before the launch of VH1 Denmark, VH1 was first made available in Denmark through VH1 UK followed by VH1 Export and later VH1 Europe. Availability Initially, upon launch, the channel had limited availability. However, YouSee, offered VH1 Denmark as a replacement to the timeshare between the channel's Pan-European equivalent VH1 Europe and the erotic channel Private Blue. TV 2 Sport HD was the high-definition television sister channel to Danish television channel TV 2 Sport. It was launched on 2 January 2008. Vild Med Dans
''Vild med dans'' is the Danish version of the British reality TV competition ''Strictly Come Dancing'' and is part of the ''Dancing with the Stars'' franchise. It is shown on TV 2 in Denmark. Seasons 1 and 2 were co-hosted by Andrea Elisabeth Rudolph and Peter Hansen. Rudolph and Hansen were replaced in season 3 by Christine Lorentzen and Claus Elming. Rudolph returned to take Lorentzen's place as co-host from seasons 4 to 6. Season 7, 8 and 9 saw Christiane Schaumburg-Müller take Rudolph's place as Elming's co-host. Since season 10, Elming has co-hosted with Sarah Grünewald. The original judges were Britt Bendixen, Jens Werner, Anne Laxholm and Kim Dahl . Television in Denmark was established in the 1950s and was run by a monopoly with only one channel available until the 1980s. History The first television broadcasts in Denmark started on 2 October 1951. These were carried out by the national radio broadcaster Statsradiofonien and consisted of a one-hour broadcast three times per week. The broadcasts were initially limited to a few hundred homes in the capital area. Daily broadcasts started in 1954. With the opening of the Gladsaxe transmitter, most of Zealand could watch television. The entire country was covered in 1960 when the transmitter on Bornholm opened. Statsradiofonien was renamed Danmarks Radio (DR) in 1959. The first news programme, TV-Avisen, started in 1965. Colour television started test transmissions in 1967, with colour television becoming the norm in filming and broadcasting from 1970 on. Joachim Brøchner Olsen (born 31 May 1977) is a Danish former politician and former world class shot putter. He was elected to the Danish parliament at the 2011 election, representing the Liberal Alliance in the Greater Copenhagen constituency. As an athlete, he represented Århus 1900. With ten straight international finals, Joachim holds the longest string of appearances in finals at Olympic, World and European Championships among throwers.
