2008 Women's County Championship
The 2008 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 12th cricket Women's County Championship season. It ran from May to August and saw 31 county teams and teams representing Scotland and Wales compete in a series of divisions. Sussex Women won the County Championship as winners of the top division, achieving their fourth title. Competition format Teams played matches within a series of divisions with the winners of the top division being crowned County Champions. Matches were played using a one day format with 50 overs per side. The championship works on a points system with positions within the divisions being based on the total points. Points were awarded as follows: Win: 20 points. Tie: 16 points. Loss: Bonus points. Abandoned or No Result: 6 points. Cancelled No Play: 10 points. Somerset Women Cricket Team
The Somerset Women cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English ceremonial county of Somerset. They play their home games at various grounds across Somerset, most often in Taunton, and are captained by Emily Edgcombe. Somerset consistently competed in either Division 1 or Division 2 of the Women's County Championship, and won Division 2 of the Women's Twenty20 Cup in 2019. In 2021, they won the West Midlands Group of the Twenty20 Cup. They were formerly partnered with the regional team Western Storm. Suffolk Women Cricket Team
The Suffolk Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Suffolk. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Wamil Way, Mildenhall and Woolpit CC, Woolpit. They are captained by Natalie Samuels. In 2019, they played in Division Three of the final season of the Women's County Championship, and have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the regional side Sunrisers. Norfolk Women Cricket Team
The Norfolk Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Norfolk. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, and are captained by Ellie Stanley. In 2019, they played in Division Three of the final season of the Women's County Championship, and have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. The Worcestershire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Worcestershire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Chester Road, Kidderminster and Stourbridge Road, Himley. They are captained by Chloe Hill. The Yorkshire Women's cricket team is the women's cricket team for the English historic county of Yorkshire. They play their home games at Headingley Stadium, Leeds, and are captained by Lauren Winfield-Hill.
