2008 Ohio Attorney General Special Election
The 2008 Ohio Attorney General special election was held on November 4, 2008, concurrently with the 2008 United States Presidential Election, Presidential Election as well as 2008 United States House of Representatives elections in Ohio, elections to the United States House of Representatives. Incumbent Ohio Attorney General, Attorney General Marc Dann who was elected in 2006 resigned on May 14, 2008 due to various scandals, thus triggering a special election. Governor Ted Strickland appointed Nancy H. Rogers to the position, but she announced she would not run to complete the rest of Marc's term. On June 11, 2008, Ohio State Treasurer Richard Cordray announced his candidacy for the election. He was challenged in the general election by former United States Attorney for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, Southern District of Ohio Michael Crites. 2010 Ohio Attorney General Election
The 2010 Ohio Attorney General election was held on November 6, 2010, concurrently with other statewide offices including a Class 1 Senate election as well as the Governor election. Incumbent Democratic Attorney General Richard Cordray who was elected in a 2008 special election ran for a full 4-year term but was defeated by Republican challenger and former 2-term United States senator Mike DeWine. Being decided by 1.2%, this was the closest statewide election in Ohio. Cordray and DeWine would later face off against each other again in the 2018 Governor election. Richland County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 124,936. Its county seat is Mansfield. The county was created in 1808 and later organized in 1813. It is named for the fertile soil found there. Richland County is included in the Mansfield, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the Mansfield- Ashland- Bucyrus, OH Combined Statistical Area. Ohio's 15th Congressional District
The 15th congressional district of Ohio currently represented by Republican Mike Carey. It was represented by Republican Steve Stivers from 2011 until May 16, 2021, when he resigned to become president and CEO of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. The district includes the southern portions of Columbus as well as communities west and south of the city. It also includes the college towns of Athens and Wilmington. From 2003 to 2013 Union County and Madison County were entirely within the district's boundaries as is approximately half of Franklin County. The Ohio House of Representatives is the lower house of the Ohio General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Ohio; the other house of the bicameral legislature being the Ohio Senate. Pickaway County, Ohio
Pickaway County is a county in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 58,539. Its county seat is Circleville.
