2008 City Of Ipswich 400
The 2008 City of Ipswich 400 is the seventh round of the 2008 V8 Supercar season. It was held on the weekend of July 18 to 20 at Queensland Raceway in Ipswich, Queensland. Practice Practice featured another opportunity for teams to test endurance co-drivers with Steve Owen ending up the fastest of those drivers in the Jim Beam Racing Falcon, second only in the session to Russell Ingall. Warren Luff was fifth fastest in the second Jim Beam Falcon just ahead of Paul Radisich in the HSV Dealer Team Commodore. Next were Craig Baird (Holden Racing Team) and David Besnard (Stone Brothers Racing). Dean Canto
Dean Justin Canto (born 24 September 1980) is a multiple-championship winning Australian motor racing driver. Best noted as a Supercars driver, Canto was the inaugural winner of the second-tier V8 Supercar development series in 2000, and the first to become a multiple-champion five years later. Canto has been a regular in the main Supercars Championship for a variety of teams racing both full-time and as a part-time endurance race co-driver. Racing career After winning a national and two state titles in kart racing, Canto graduated to the Australian GT Production Car Championship and finished the Championship in 11th overall, and second within Class B in which his Subaru Impreza WRX raced. Brad Jones Racing is an Australian motor racing team owned by Brad Jones based in Albury. The team competes in the Supercars Championship and the Super2 Series. Recently they have also returned to Australian Formula Ford where Brad and Kim began their careers. The team is the only rurally based Supercars team. Bradley Jones also known as Brad (born 2 April 1960) is a retired Australian racing driver. Jones now acts as team co-principal with his brother Kim in the V8 Supercar racing team, Brad Jones Racing. Although he is more known as a V8 team owner, Brad Jones was successful in nearly all forms of motorsport he competed in. He is one of only two people alongside Jim Richards to have won both the Australian AUSCAR and NASCAR championships. Britek Motorsport
Britek Motorsport was an Australian Supercars motor racing team owned by Bathurst 1000 winning driver Jason Bright. Established in 2005, the team originally ran as an independent team, however since 2010, its only remaining asset has been one Racing Entitlement Contract, which was most recently used to enter a fourth Ford FG X Falcon for Prodrive Racing Australia in 2017, officially under the Britek name, then leased out for a further two seasons. Team Kiwi Racing
Team Kiwi Racing is a racing team that previously competed in the Australian V8 Supercar series, the Australian Carrera Cup Series, The New Zealand 2.0ltr Touring Car Championship, The NZV8 Championship and BMW Championship Series. The team has since returned at much reduced scale, competing in one make series' in New Zealand while also supporting a number of up and coming young Kiwi drivers from grass root level motorsport through to domestic and international competition. Adam Macrow
Adam Macrow (born 23 November 1978, in Victoria) is a professional race car driver. In 1985, he started his motorsports career in karting. Over his time spent in karts, he won two national titles and ten Victorian titles. In 1995, he moved out of karts into Formula Vee, which was followed in 1996 by a move into Formula Ford. He won the National Championship in 1998. Macrow's Formula Ford title was the first title for the Australian manufacturer of Spectrum Cars, which have since run drivers such as Mark Winterbottom and John Martin. In 1999, Macrow raced in Formula Holden, achieving a fourth-place finish in the series. In the same year, he started his career in V8 Supercars with Longhurst Racing, driving with Tony Longhurst in the Queensland 500 and Bathurst 1000. Perkins Engineering was a team contesting the Australian V8 Supercar Championship Series, operating as an active racing team between 1986 and 2008. From 2009 onwards, the involvement of Perkins Engineering in the championship wounded back into a supply relationship with the newly formed Kelly Racing. Jack Perkins (racing Driver)
Jack 'Perko' Perkins (born 22 August 1986) is an Australian motor racing driver who competes in the Pirtek Enduro Cup. He currently co-drives with Will Brown in the No. 9 Holden ZB Commodore for Erebus Motorsport. He is the son of retired Australian race driver and former team owner Larry Perkins, in whose team Perkins Engineering, he drove between 2006 and 2008. Initially competing as an endurance race only driver in 2006, in 2007 Perkins graduated to the full-time drive in the No. 11 Perkins Engineering car, the number made famous in Australian racing by his father. Tasman Motorsport was a V8 Supercar racing team. It was formed in 2004 out of what was Lansvale Racing Team V8 Supercar team and was associated with Greg Murphy Racing as a satellite operation. Tasman Motorsport entered the series in 2004, with a single Holden VX Commodore which was driven by Jason Richards. Grant Denyer
Grant Craig Denyer (born 12 September 1977) is an Australian television and radio presenter and motor racing driver, who has worked for several television networks, including Seven Network and Network 10, mostly serving as a presenter. In 2018, he won a Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television.
