2007–08 AFC Ajax Season
During the 2007–08 season, AFC Ajax participated in the Eredivisie, the KNVB Cup, UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Cup. The first training took place on 5 July 2007. The traditional AFC Ajax Open Day was on 8 August. Pre-season The first training for the 2007–08 season was held on 5 July 2007. In preparation for the new season, Ajax organized a training camp in De Lutte at the De Thij Sportpark. During the pre-season, the squad played friendly matches against VVSB, GFC, Quick '20 and Go Ahead Eagles before traveling to Scotland to play against Rangers and Falkirk. They then returned to Amsterdam to play Atlético Madrid and Arsenal in the annual Amsterdam Tournament. De Lutte

Urby Vitorrio Diego Emanuelson (born 16 June 1986) is a Dutch former professional association football, footballer. He is the currently assistant trainer of Jong Ajax. Thomas Vermaelen
Thomas Vermaelen (; born 14 November 1985) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a defender. Being left-footed, he usually played as a left-sided centre-back and could play at left-back as well. Bruno Ramón Silva Barone (born 29 March 1980) is a Uruguayan football manager and former player who played as a right back. During his career, he played for Danubio in Uruguay, FC Rostov in Russia, Groningen and Ajax in the Netherlands, as well as Internacional in Brazil, with whom he won the 2010 Copa Libertadores. John Gijsbert Alan "Johnny" Heitinga (born 15 November 1983) is a Dutch football coach and former player who is currently the assistant manager at Premier League club Liverpool. Maarten Stekelenburg (; born 22 September 1982) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Stekelenburg began his career at Ajax, playing 282 matches over nine seasons in his first spell there and winning nine honours, including two Eredivisie titles. The Amsterdam Tournament () was a pre-season association football competition, held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The competition was hosted by Eredivisie club AFC Ajax, Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena. It was inaugurated in 1975 as the Amsterdam 700 Tournament to celebrate 700 years of history in the city. It was held annually each summer until 1992, when the last edition of the original tournament was played. It returned in 1999 with the backing of the International Event Partnership (IEP). Four teams participate in the competition, played in a league format since 1986. Since its return, the tournament has used an unusual point scoring system.
