Three Rivers (district)
Three Rivers is a local government district in southwest Hertfordshire, England. Its council is based in Rickmansworth. The district was formed on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, by the merger of Rickmansworth Urban District, Chorleywood Urban District and part of Watford Rural District. The confluence of the Chess and the Gade with the Colne in Rickmansworth inspired the district's name. The main offices are located in Rickmansworth in Three Rivers House, opened in 1991. District council Three Rivers is a non-metropolitan district that elects one-third of its councillors every four years and with the fourth year for elections to Hertfordshire County Council. In the 2014 elections new ward boundaries came into effect and the council was reduced from 48 to 39 seats. Bedmond And Primrose Hill
Bedmond and Primrose Hill is a ward in Three Rivers, in England, the United Kingdom. It is located in south-west Hertfordshire, in the East of England region. The ward includes Bedmond and a sparsely populated area to the north. It lies north of the M25 motorway, which separates the ward from Abbots Langley, and is bordered by Kings Langley to the west, and Hemel Hempstead to the north. Slightly to the east of the ward is the M1 motorway. Bedmond elects two members to Three Rivers District Council. It is represented by two Liberal Democrat councillors (Joy Mann and Richard Laval). For elections to Hertfordshire County Council, Bedmond and Primrose Hill is part of the Abbots Langley division, represented by the Liberal Democrat Paul Goggins. Three Rivers District Council Elections
Three Rivers District Council elections are held three years out of four to elect members of Three Rivers District Council in Hertfordshire, England. Since the last boundary changes in 2014 the council has comprised 39 councillors representing 13 wards, each of which elects three councillors, one at each election such that a third of the council is elected each time. Elections to Hertfordshire County Council are held in the fourth year of the cycle when there are no district council elections. 2007 English Local Elections
The 2007 UK local government elections were held on 3 May 2007. These elections took place in most of England and all of Scotland. There were no local government elections in Wales though the Welsh Assembly had a general election on the same day. There were no local government elections in Northern Ireland. Just over half of English councils and almost all the Scottish councils began the counts on Friday, rather than Thursday night, because of more complex arrangements regarding postal votes. These elections were a landmark in the United Kingdom as it was the first time that 18- to 20-year-olds could stand as candidates for council seats. The change was due to an alteration of the Electoral Administration Act. At least fourteen 18- to 20-year-olds are known to have stood as candidates for council seats and as a result William Lloyd became the youngest person to be elected to official office in Britain.
