2007 Newfoundland And Labrador Provincial By-elections
Five provincial by-elections were held in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2007, following vacancies in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly. Three took place on February 8, and two took place on February 13. In addition, one special election took place on November 6, 2007, following the death of a candidate during the general election campaign in October. Ferryland Kilbride Port au Port Humber Valley At first, it was announced that Darryl Kelly, the PC candidate, had won the election by a margin of twelve votes; however, it turned out that this was a mistake and that Dwight Ball, the Liberal candidate, had won by a margin of eighteen votes instead. Turnout was 62 per cent. Due to the close result of the by-election (which turned out to have been won by a margin of only nine votes in the official result), a judicial recount was ordered for March 1–2, 2007, which resulted in a reduction of Ball's lead to seven votes. Humber Valley (electoral District)
Humber Valley is a defunct provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. As of the 2011 Census, there were 7,938 eligible voters living within the district. Humber Valley covered some of the best agricultural land in Newfoundland and Labrador, and ran from Deer Lake to just north of Great Harbour Deep. Apart from Deer Lake, other communities in the district included Cormack, Reidville, Hampden, Sop's Arm and part of Pasadena. The district was created for the 1975 provincial election out of parts of White Bay South, Humber East and St. George's. In 2015, the House of Assembly was reduced to 40 seats, and the district of Humber Valley was combined with part of the district of St. Barbe, forming the new district of Humber - Gros Morne. 2007 Elections In Canada

Susan Sullivan is a Canadian politician in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. She represented the electoral district of Grand Falls-Windsor-Buchans in Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly from 2007 to 2015. She was a member of the Progressive Conservative Party. Beaton Tulk
Beaton Tulk (May 22, 1944 – May 23, 2019) was a Canadian educator, civil servant and politician. He served as the seventh premier of Newfoundland from 2000 to 2001 as a member of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador. Early life Born in Ladle Cove, Newfoundland, Tulk was the youngest son of Sadie and Japhet Tulk. He graduated from Memorial University with BA, B.Ed, and Master of Educational Administration degrees. He also later obtained a Canadian Securities Investment Diploma. An educator prior to politics, he was a supervising principal for the Carmanville school system from 1974 to 1979. Prior to 2006, the district was Grand Falls-Buchans, while expanded slightly in all directions it took in no major municipalities. The Labrador Party (or New Labrador Party) was the name of two political parties in Newfoundland advocating the interests of the region of Labrador, Canada. Baker represented the district of Labrador West in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party. Randy Collins is a Canadian politician and a former New Democratic Party (NDP) member of the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly. He represented the Labrador West riding until his resignation in early 2007 due to corruption charges. Labrador West (electoral District)
Labrador West is a provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. From 1975 to 1996, the district was known as Menihek. Known as the iron ore capital of Canada with two modern mining communities, Labrador City and Wabush, the district has a strong base of labour support. This district was the first in Newfoundland and Labrador to send a New Democratic member to the House of Assembly, electing party leader Peter Fenwick in a 1984 by-election.
