ENnie Awards
The ENNIE Awards (previously stylized as ENnie Awards) are awards for role-playing game (RPG) products (including game-related accessories, publications, and art) and their creators. The awards were created in 2001 by Russ Morrissey of EN World in partnership with Eric Noah's Unofficial D&D Third Edition News. The ceremony has been hosted at Gen Con in Indianapolis since 2002. Since 2018, EN World is no longer associated with the awards. The ENNIES comprise two rounds. In the first round, publishers submit their products for nomination. Entries are judged by five democratically elected judges. The nominated products are voted on by the public in the second round. Winners of the annual awards are then announced at a ceremony at Gen Con. History The award ceremony initially focused on the ''d20 System'' products and publishers. It has come to include "all games, supplements, and peripheral enterprises". Since 2002, the awards have been announced at a live ceremony at Gen Con. It ... Order Of The Stick
''The Order of the Stick'' (''OOTS'') is a comedic webcomic that satirizes tabletop role-playing games and medieval fantasy. The comic is written and drawn by Rich Burlew, who illustrates the comic in a stick figure style. Taking place in a magical world that loosely operates by the rules of the Editions of Dungeons & Dragons#Dungeons & Dragons v3.5, 3.5 edition of the role-playing game ''Dungeons & Dragons'' (''D&D''), the comic follows the sometimes farcical exploits of six adventurers as they strive to save the world from an evil Lich (Dungeons & Dragons), lich Sorcerer (Dungeons & Dragons), sorcerer. Much of the comic's humor stems from the characters' awareness of the game rules that affect their lives or from having anachronism, anachronistic knowledge of modern culture. This in turn is often used by the author to parody various aspects of role-playing games and fantasy fiction. While primarily comedic in nature, ''The Order of the Stick'' features a continuing storyline se ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Ptolus
''Ptolus'', subtitled "Monte Cook's City by the Spire", is a fantasy role-playing game campaign setting created by Monte Cook and published by his Malhavoc Press in 2006 that details a single city and the dungeons that lie beneath it. ''Ptolus'' uses the rules of the third edition of ''Dungeons & Dragons'' — the d20 System — under the terms of Wizards of the Coast's Open Game License. At 672 pages, it was the largest ''D&D'' supplement that had been published up to that time. Setting Ptolus is a coastal city at the edge of the Tarsis empire that is set on the water planet Praemal, which is itself currently experiencing an ice age. The city lies in the shadow of a mysterious and impossibly tall spire.
