Fight+
Fight+ was a British and European combat sports TV channel founded by David McConachie and Steffen Tangstad. Fight+ showed movies, documentaries, classic and exclusive matches, training and educational programming and news. The channel was launched at the end of January 2006 on a British Sky satellite provider. The plan was for Fight+ to become available all over Europe as fast as possible. The channel started broadcasting in Scandinavia on 1 March 2006. Fight+ closed down on 11 December 2006, according to Canal Digital website. According to the same website the channel is closing because there hasn't been enough interest from customers of Canal Digital, and they've also had problems finding new investors. TV 2 News (former working title: TV 2 Nyhedskanalen) is a Danish language television news channel which started broadcasting on 1 December 2006. It's one of the first 24-hour news channels in the Danish language ( 24Nordjyske is also a 24-hour news channel but is only shown in Nordjylland). The channel has editorial offices at the TV 2 headquarters at Kvægtorvet in Odense, and in Copenhagen. History On 10 December 2007, TV 2 News began using Viz Mosart from Vizrt for the channel's automation, becoming the first channel in the world to do so. At that time, TV 2 News broadcast 16 hours of live content daily. On 31 March 2008 TV 2 News started broadcasting in the 16:9 widescreen format with an entirely new set of graphics. Silver (TV Channel)
Silver was a movie television channel broadcasting to the Nordic countries broadcasting quality movies, " World cinema" and independent films. The channel was managed by Scandinavian television broadcaster NonStop Television, part of Turner Broadcasting. The owners NonStop Television applied for a license to broadcast a channel with the working name "NonStop Filmfestival" in the Swedish digital terrestrial network in the autumn of 2005. The government gave the channel a license in February 2006, at the expense of the owner's other movie channel, Showtime Scandinavia. NonStop Filmfestival had to launch before the end of May and Showtime was allowed to continue broadcasting until the new channel started. NonStop Filmfestival was named "Silver" in April and could start broadcasting on May 26, 2006, during the Cannes Film Festival. Voom HD was a television channel providing high-definition programming from various genres. The network was available in 35 countries in Europe and Asia. Programming was taken from the various stations owned by Voom HD Networks in the United States and includes '' Full Frontal Fashion'', '' Earth Diaries'' and '' Gamespotting''. A deal between Rainbow Networks and the Stockholm-based company NonStop Television was made in 2006 that allowed NonStop to distribute the channel in Scandinavia, Finland, Iceland and the Baltic states. Television in Denmark was established in the 1950s and was run by a monopoly with only one channel available until the 1980s. History The first television broadcasts in Denmark started on 2 October 1951. These were carried out by the national radio broadcaster Statsradiofonien and consisted of a one-hour broadcast three times per week. The broadcasts were initially limited to a few hundred homes in the capital area. Daily broadcasts started in 1954. With the opening of the Gladsaxe transmitter, most of Zealand could watch television. The entire country was covered in 1960 when the transmitter on Bornholm opened. Statsradiofonien was renamed Danmarks Radio (DR) in 1959. The first news programme, TV-Avisen, started in 1965. Colour television started test transmissions in 1967, with colour television becoming the norm in filming and broadcasting from 1970 on.
