2006 Yemen Prison Escape
Twenty-three suspected Al-Qaeda members escaped from a Yemen prison in 2006. The escape is notable because the escapees included several individuals imprisoned for their participation in the USS Cole bombing, USS ''Cole'' bombing. Gaber Al-Bana’a was believed to be an American citizen, who traveled to an Afghan training camp with some friends who became known as the ''Lackawanna Six'' or ''Buffalo Six'', when they were rounded up as a "sleeper cell". The prisoners escaped through a 140-metre tunnel. Mansour Nasser Al Bihani
Mansour Nasser al Bihani is a citizen of Yemen who is reported to have died fighting in Somalia in 2011. He is reported to have been "killed in a clash with American forces off the coast of Somalia." A martyrdom statement was published on November 26, 2011. He is reported to have emigrated to Afghanistan, with Abdul Aziz bin Attash, and his family, who, like al Bihani, was a Yemeni who also had brothers who were Guantanamo captives. He is reported to have fought in Chechnya under Ibn Al Khattab, until he was wounded and returned to Afghanistan. He is reported to have been captured in Saudi Arabia, and transferred to the custody of Yemen. Muhammad ( ar, مُحَمَّد; 570 – 8 June 632 CE) was an Arab religious, social, and political leader and the founder of Islam. Kasem Yahya Al-Remi
Qasim al-Raymi ( ar, قاسم الريمي; 5 June 1978 – 29 January 2020) was a Yemeni militant who was the emir of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). Al-Raymi was one of 23 men who escaped in the 3 February 2006 prison-break in Yemen, along with other notable al-Qaeda members. Al-Raymi was connected to a July 2007 suicide bombing that killed eight Spanish tourists. In 2009, the Yemeni government accused him of being responsible for the running of an al-Qaeda training camp in Abyan province.
