2006 AFL Under 18 Championships
The 2006 NAB AFL Under 18 Championships was the 11th edition of the AFL Under 18 Championships. Eight teams competed in the championships: Vic Metro, Vic Country, South Australia and Western Australia in Division 1, and New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory (NSW/ACT), Northern Territory, Queensland and Tasmania in Division 2. The competition was played over three rounds across two divisions. Vic Metro and Queensland were the Division 1 and Division 2 champions, respectively. The Larke Medal (for the best player in Division 1) was awarded to Victoria Metro's Tom Hawkins, and the Hunter Harrison Medal (for the best player in Division 2) was won by Queensland's Ricky Petterd. Tom Hawkins (footballer, Born 1988)
Thomas Jack Hawkins (born 21 July 1988) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). At tall and weighing , Hawkins played primarily as a key forward and is one of the most prolific scorers in the history of the game, ranked 13th highest all-time league goalkicking. Scott Gumbleton (born 3 August 1988) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the and Fremantle Football Clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL). Craig McRae
Craig McRae (born 22 September 1973) is a former Australian rules footballer and the current senior coach of the Collingwood Football Club. Playing career Glenelg Football Club McRae played for Glenelg Football Club in the SANFL from 1993 until 1994, for a total of 41 games and 59 goals. David Dickson (born 12 May 1952) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton in the VFL during the 1970s. Robert Eddy (born 7 January 1988) is a former Australian rules footballer. He previously played for in the Australian Football League (AFL). Nathan Djerrkura (born 19 September 1988) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Geelong Football Club and the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). Craig Bird (born 21 January 1989) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans and Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Bryce Gibbs (Australian Rules Footballer)
Bryce Gibbs (born 15 March 1989) is a retired professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club and the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Pre-AFL Gibbs was an exceptional youth talent, which led to much speculation about his ultimate AFL drafting. In 2004 he won Glenelg's Under-17s best and fairest award despite spending part of the season playing SANFL reserve grade. Matthew Leuenberger
Matthew Leuenberger (born 7 June 1988) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions and the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Leuenberger represented Western Australia in the 2006 AFL Under 18 Championships and was rewarded with All-Australian selection as the ruckman.
