2005–06 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup
The 2005/06 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup was the twenty seventh World Cup season in freestyle skiing organised by International Ski Federation. The season started on 3 September 2005 and ended on 19 March 2006. This season included four disciplines: aerials, moguls, ski cross and halfpipe. Tomáš Kraus
Tomáš Kraus (born 3 March 1974, in Děčín) is a Czech sportsman who has specialized in both alpine skiing and freestyle skiing. His best results as an alpine skier was two 28th places at the 1997 and 2003 World Championships, but as a freestyle skier he is a double world champion and has 15 victories in World Cup races in the skicross discipline. Freestyle skiing Before retiring as an alpine skier, Kraus had already taken up ski cross. He made his World Cup debut in November 2002 in Tignes, and won that race, but only competed in two more races that season. He opened the 2003–04 season with an eighth place in Saas-Fee, and recorded a fourth place from Pozza di Fassa in January as his best result. In the 2004–05 season he competed in six World Cup races, winning three of them; in Les Contamines, Pozza di Fassa and Kreischberg. Tignes
Tignes () is a commune in the Tarentaise Valley, in the Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France, known for the highest skiable area and the longest ski season in Europe. It is located in the Savoie region with good transport links in and out of Lyon, Geneva and Chambéry. It is best known as a snow sure ski resort. Together with neighbouring Val d'Isère, it forms the Tignes – Val d'Isère ski area. Toby Dawson
Toby Dawson (; Kim Soo-cheol; born Kim Bong-seok; ; May 4, 1979) is an American retired mogul skier. He won a bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics. Dawson is a featured athlete on the sports medicine show Athlete 360. He is currently a coach for the Korean national freestyle skiing team. Early life Dawson was born in Busan, South Korea as Kim Bong-seok. When he was three, then-Kim Bong-seok was at a crowded Jungang market in Beomil-dong, Dong-gu, Busan with his mother and went missing. His father went through many orphanages in the area for days, and his son was nowhere to be found. Deer Valley
Deer Valley is a ski-only resort in the Wasatch Range, located east of Salt Lake City, in Park City, Utah, United States where snowboarding is prohibited. Deer Valley was one of the venues for the 2002 Winter Olympics, hosting the freestyle moguls, aerial, and alpine slalom events. It is expected to host the mogul event for the 2034 Winter Olympics but lost out on hosting the slalom event. Deer Valley also regularly hosts competitions for the International Ski Federation for moguls and aerials, but is not steep enough nor does it have long enough terrain to host events such as the GS, Super G, or Downhill. Janne Lahtela (born 28 February 1974) is a Finnish former athlete, who established himself as one of the most dominant persons in the history of moguls skiing. Jeremy Bloom
Jeremy Bloom (born April 2, 1982) is an American former skier and football player. As a skier, he is a one-time world champion, two-time Olympian, and 10-time World Cup gold medalist. He was inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame in 2013. Bloom was a Freshman All-American at the University of Colorado. He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2006 NFL draft and was also a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, but did not play in a regular season game for either team. Alexandre Bilodeau (; born September 8, 1987) is a Canadian retired freestyle skiing, freestyle skier from Rosemère, Rosemere, Quebec, Bilodeau currently resides in Montreal, Montreal, Quebec. Travis Mayer
Travis Mayer (born February 22, 1982, in Buffalo, New York) is an Olympic-level freestyle skier. He won the silver medal in the moguls competition at the 2002 Winter Olympics and also competed in the 2006 Winter Olympics. Travis grew up skiing in Western New York at Holiday Valley and across the Northeast as a member of the Holiday Valley Freestyle Team. After completing junior high school in Orchard Park, as a freshman in high school he went to Killington Mountain School in Vermont for five months to concentrate on his skiing.
