The Football League ( el, Φούτμπολ Λιγκ) was the second highest professional football league in Greece since its inception in 1962 as ''Beta Ethniki'' and until 2019. It then served as a third tier after the creation of the Super League 2 as the new second tier and it was eventually abolished in 2021 when the 2021–22 Super League 2 went from a 12 team to a 36 team league, absorbing most of the clubs from the Football League. Leonardo Rodrigues Pereira or simply Leonardo (born September 22, 1986) is a Brazilian professional footballer. Leonardo usually plays as an attacking midfielder but can also play as a winger. Club career Leonardo was born in Vila Velha, Brazil. On July 30, 2009, Leonardo signed a five-year contract with AEK Athens. On August 20, Leonardo made his official debut for AEK, in the game versus Vaslui in the Europa League. Leonardo made his league debut in the 1–0 away win over Atromitos on August 30. Rafik Zoheir Djebbour (Arabic: رفيق جبور; born 8 March 1984) is a retired professional footballer who played as striker and winger. Born in France, he represented Algeria at international level. Ljubiša Savić (footballer)
Ljubiša "Mauzer" Savić ( sr-cyr, Љубиша Маузер Савић; 11 August 1958 – 7 June 2000) was a Bosnian Serb paramilitary commander during the Bosnian War and a post-war politician. He led the Garda Panteri during the war. After the war, he became the chief of police in Bijeljina. He was assassinated in Bijeljina in 2000, due to suspected gang violence in the city after three gunmen reportedly fired upon his jeep. The first attempt on Savić's life happened in July 1998. Two former Republika Srpska soldiers, Stojan Maksimović and Vladimir Neretljak, were killed in an explosion outside his house. Thanasis Gogas ( el, Θανάσης Γκόγκας; born 29 September 1980) is a Greek footballer. He currently plays for Serres FCA club Iraklis Cheimarros. Patrick Ogunsoto (born 19 April 1983) is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a striker. He spent the majority of his career in Greece and is best known for his tenure at Greek side Ergotelis, for which he still remains the all-time top scorer. 2006–07 Gamma Ethniki
The 2006–07 Gamma Ethniki was the 24th season since the official establishment of the third tier of Greek football in 1983. Agios Dimitrios and Pierikos were crowned champions in ''South'' and ''North'' Group respectively, thus winning promotion to Beta Ethniki. ASK Olympiacos won the third promotion ticket after defeating Rodos 2-1 in a single play-off match at Municipal Ground of Peristeri between the two groups' second-placed teams. Paniliakos, OF Ierapetra, PAO Varda, Zakynthos, Androutsos Gravia, Nafpaktiakos Asteras and Doxa Gratini were finally relegated to Delta Ethniki or the Regional Championship. The 2006–07 Super League Greece was the 71st season of the highest football league of Greece and the inaugural under the name ''Super League''. The season began on 19 August 2006 and ended on 13 May 2007. Olympiacos clinched the title on 22 April with their victory over Kerkyra, for their third straight title and 10th in the last 11 years. For the next season, Ionikos, Kerkyra and Egaleo have been relegated to B' Ethniki given that they have finished in the lowest three spots of the table.
