2005 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship
The 2005 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship was the tenth edition of the Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organized by the European Hockey Federation. It was held on the complex of the hockey club ATV Leipzig in Leipzig, Germany from 28 August to 4 September 2005. For the first time, there were just eight teams competing instead of twelve. From 2005 on the competition has been held every two years, while the lower-ranked teams got their own championship, divided into a 2005 Men's EuroHockey Nations Trophy, Nations Trophy ("B"-nations) and a 2005 Men's EuroHockey Nations Challenge I, Nations Challenge ("C"-nations). Christopher Zeller (born 14 September 1984) is a German national representative field hockey player. As of 2008, his current club is Rot-Weiss Köln. Zeller represented Germany in the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. Personal life Born in Munich, he is the younger brother of Philipp Zeller. David Ralph
David Ralph (born 17 August 1972) is a former international hockey player who played as a forward for Scotland. Biography Ralph earned his first Scotland cap in 1994. Ralph played club hockey for Kelburne in the Scottish leagues and Loughborough Students' Hockey Club in the Men's England Hockey League. Ralph was part of the Scotland Commonwealth Games team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Ralph, an experienced international hockey coach was appointed Head Coach for the England and Great Britain women's hockey teams in September 2021. Brett Garrard
Brett Spencer Garrard (born 21 August 1976) is a British former field hockey player. Garrard competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics and in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Biography Garrard played club hockey for Surbiton in the Men's England Hockey League before joining Guildford for one season and Teddington for two seasons. Garrard made his England debut on 16 March 1997 against Pakistan. After joining Teddington he represented England and won a bronze medal in the men's hockey, at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur and participated in the 1998 Men's Hockey World Cup. Garrad returned to Surbiton for the 1999/2000 season and during his second spell at Surbiton he made his first Olympic appearance representing Great Britain at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Matt Daly
Matthew Daly (born 8 July 1983) is an English field hockey player who played for England and Great Britain and competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics. Biography Daly was born in Saudi Arabia. He played club hockey for Surbiton in the Men's England Hockey League from 2002 to 2016. While at Surbtion, Daly made his international debut in 2005. He competed for at numerous tournaments, including representing England at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and playing for Great Britain in the 2008 men's tournament at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Benjamin Robert Hawes (born 28 July 1980) is a former English field hockey player who played for the England and the Great Britain national team in midfield or as a halfback. He represented Great Britain in Field hockey at the 2004, 2008 (as captain) and 2012 Summer Olympics. Mark Ralph (field Hockey)
Mark Ralph (born 10 February 1980) is a former field hockey midfield player from Scotland. Biography Ralph earned his first cap for Scotland in 2001 against India. His cousin David was also capped for Scotland. He was part of the Scotland Commonwealth Games team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Ralph played his club hockey for Kelburne but after missing out on Olympic selection in 2008, he joined Dutch club Klein Zwitzerland afterwards. On his return to Scotland he became the Player Coach of Kelburne HC for 5 seasons and helped the club achieve 11 National League titles in a row and compete with European clubs at the EHL, making the KO16 at his first attempt at coaching at this level.
