2004–05 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2004–05 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was one of two first-class domestic cricket competitions that were held in Pakistan during the 2004–05 season. It was the first edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy under a new sponsorship agreement with ABN AMRO signed by the Pakistan Cricket Board. It was contested by eleven regional association teams, with twelve departmental teams contesting the Patron's Trophy later in the season. The competition was organised as a round-robin qualifying group stage of four-day matches, with the top two teams contesting a five-day final. Group matches took place between 10 October and 24 December 2004, with the final played from 28 December 2004 to 1 January 2005. Pakistan Cricket Board
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is a sports governing body for cricket in Pakistan responsible for controlling and organising all tours and matches undertaken by the Pakistan national cricket team. A member of the International Cricket Council since 1952, it represents the country's men's and women's national teams in international cricket tournaments played under the ICC. Following the establishment of Pakistan as an independent dominion of the British Empire in 1947, professional and amateur cricket commenced in the same year, seeing as local infrastructure had already been established when the country was part of the British Raj. Cricket matches were arranged informally until 1948, when a Board of Control was formally instituted. Karachi Whites
Karachi cricket teams competed in the Pakistani first-class cricket tournaments the Patron's Trophy and Quaid-e-Azam Trophy from 1953-54 to 2018-19. Beginning with the 2019-20 season, the city of Karachi has been represented in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy by the Sindh cricket team. Teams Owing to the strength of cricket in Karachi, from the 1956–57 season the Karachi City Cricket Association has usually fielded two, sometimes three, first-class teams. (Lahore has done the same from the 1957–58 season.) The names of the teams have varied. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Batters further down the batting order than the not out batters do not come out to the crease at all and are noted as ''did not bat'' rather than ''not out''; by contrast, a batter who comes to the crease but faces no balls is ''not out''. Declaration And Forfeiture
In the sport of cricket, a declaration occurs when a captain declares his team's innings closed and a forfeiture occurs when a captain chooses to forfeit an innings without batting. Declaration and forfeiture are covered in Law 15 of the '' Laws of Cricket''. This concept applies only to matches in which each team is scheduled to bat in two innings; Law 15 specifically does not apply in any form of limited overs cricket. Declaration The captain of the batting side may declare an innings closed, when the ball is dead, at any time during a match. Shahid Nazir
Shahid Nazir (Urdu: شاہد نذیر) (born 4 December 1977) is a Pakistani cricketer. He made his Test debut for Pakistan against Zimbabwe at Sheikhupura in 1996, and immediately received much criticism from the spectators whose local favourite Aaqib Javed he was thought to have replaced. However, the crowd soon got behind him as he took 5 wickets in the first innings. He played in a number of Test matches for Pakistan over the next 3 years, but appearances became more intermittent and he was dropped in 1999. Shahid Nazir made a return to the national team on 8 June 2006 when he was officially added to the Pakistani squad for their tour of England after an injury to Shoaib Akhtar. In 2008, he signed with the Indian Cricket League and played for the Lahore Badshahs. Shahid Nazir has not played international cricket since January 2007. Riaz Afridi ( ur, ; born 21 January 1985) is a Pakistani cricket coach and cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. In December 2017, his youngest brother Shaheen Afridi was named in Pakistan's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Misbah-ul-Haq
; born 28 May 1974) is a former Pakistani cricket coach and former international cricketer. Misbah captained Pakistan in all formats and is former head coach and former chief selector of the Pakistan national team. A late bloomer, Misbah was a middle-order batsman best known for his composure with the bat whilst also having the ability to be an aggressive big shot player when required. Misbah scored the fastest fifty in Test cricket and set a new record for the fastest Test hundred and holds the record for most career ODI runs without a century. Quetta was a first-class cricket team based in Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan. Quetta participated in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy. For Twenty20 and List A cricket they were known as the Quetta Bears and participated in the Faysal Bank T20 Cup and National One-day Championship . Quetta played their first first-class matches in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy in 1957–58. They reached the quarter-finals in 1962–63 and 1963–64, and continued playing in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy until 1969–70. Hyderabad Cricket Team
The Hyderabad cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana, run by the Hyderabad Cricket Association. It is part of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group and has seen scattered success over its many years in the Ranji Trophy circuit. Multan Cricket Team
The Multan cricket team was a first-class cricket team based in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. Their home ground was the Multan Cricket Stadium. They participated in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. For List A and Twenty20 cricket the team were known as the Multan Tigers and they participate in the various Pakistan List A competitions and in the Faysal Bank T20 Cup.
