2004–05 FA Women's Cup
The 2004–05 FA Women's Cup was the 35th edition of the FA Women's Cup, a knockout cup competition for women's football teams in England. It was sponsored by Nationwide, and known as The FA Women's Cup in partnership with Nationwide for sponsorship purposes. 210 clubs were accepted into the tournament. National Division side Arsenal were the defending champions, but they were eliminated by Everton in the semi-finals. Charlton Athletic won their first FA Women's Cup title after a 1–0 win over Everton in the final. FA Women's Premier League Southern Division
The FA Women's National League South is a league in the third level in the women's football pyramid in England, along with the Northern division. These two divisions are part of the FA Women's National League and below the Women's Super League and Women's Championship. The league is played on a home and away basis, with each team playing each other twice, and points being awarded in the standard three points for a win format. The bottom two clubs are relegated, also on a geographical basis, to the Division One South West, and Division One South East. For the 2023/24 season, changes were made meaning that two clubs would be relegated from the Women's Championship allowing one team each from National League North and South to be promoted to the Championship rather than having to play a season end playoff. Garswood Saints
St Helens Women's Football Club was a leading women's football club in England. They reached four WFA Cup finals in the 1980's and were victorious in 1980 when they defeated Preston North End 1-0. They dissolved in 2006. History The club was founded in 1976 by Chris Slater and Liz Deighan, who had met at trials for the England women's national football team. They joined the Merseyside League, winning it three years running from 1978 to 1980, also winning the Merseyside Cup twice. In 1979/80, they won the Women's FA Cup, defeating Preston North End 1–0 in the final. Sue Holland scored the only goal of the game held at Southbury Road, Enfield, with Chris Slater becoming the first female manager to win the competition.
