Alemannia Aachen
Alemannia Aachen () or ATSV Alemannia 1900 is a German football club from the western city of Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia. A long term fixture of the country's second division, ''Alemannia'' enjoyed a three-year turn in the Bundesliga in the late 1960s and, after a successful 2005–06 campaign, returned to the first division for a single season. The club has since slipped to third division play and in late 2012 entered into bankruptcy. They finished their 2012–13 3. Liga schedule before resuming play in the tier IV Regionalliga West in 2013–14. Alemannia carries the nickname "the potato beetles" (Kartoffelkäfer) because of their striped yellow-black jerseys, which make them look like the particular insects. Dennis Brinkmann
Dennis Brinkmann (born 22 November 1978 in Essen) is a German football coach and former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Life In his youth, Brinkmann played for various clubs in the Ruhr Area. He started his senior career at Borussia Dortmund in 1997. From 1998 to 2003, he spent five years in the Oberliga and the Regionalliga with Rot-Weiss Essen. Then he went to 2. Bundesliga-side Alemannia Aachen. Brinkmann then successfully spent two years in Aachen along with players like Frank Paulus and Emmanuel Krontiris. He was part of the so-called "New Alemannia" and was capped 54 times. Jan Schlaudraff (born 18 July 1983) is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder and striker. He is the sporting director of Hannover 96. Club career Born in Waldbröl, Schlaudraff started playing professionally for Borussia Mönchengladbach, mainly as a midfielder. During two and a half seasons he managed only ten first division appearances, the first being on 19 February 2003, as he played one minute in a 2–0 home win over VfL Wolfsburg. Schlaudraff transferred to Alemannia Aachen in January 2005, eventually becoming a striker once more – and being named team captain. Christopher Robert Iwelumo (; born 1 August 1978) is a Scottish former professional footballer, who played as a striker. Iwelumo started his career with St Mirren before moving to Danish club Aarhus Fremad for two years. Moses Sichone (born 31 May 1977) is a retired professional footballer who played as a defender. A Zambian international, he spent most of his career with German clubs. Career Sichone joined the squad of Kickers Offenbach in June 2007. After ten years in Germany he left the country on 20 July 2009 and signed for AEP Paphos FC. Erik Meijer (born 2 August 1969) is a retired Dutch footballer. He played as a striker, he was known as a header specialist. He last worked as director of sports for Alemannia Aachen. Career Born in Meerssen, Limburg, Meijer started his career at Fortuna Sittard (1987–89). He broke through in the early 1990s at Dutch Eredivisie club MVV Maastricht and was transferred to PSV Eindhoven in 1994, where he did not play much due to competition by team mates Ronaldo, Luc Nilis and Wim Kieft. He then moved to German Bundesliga struggler KFC Uerdingen 05 in 1995, where he was one of the few bright spots in a hapless squad, and was picked up by Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
