2002–03 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The 2002–03 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 33rd staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club hurling tournament. The championship began on 20 October 2002 and ended on 17 March 2002. Birr were the defending champions. On 17 March 2003 Birr won the championship following a 1–19 to 0–11 defeat of Dunloy in the All-Ireland final. This was their fourth All-Ireland title and their second title in succession. Athenry's Eugene Cloonan was the championship's top scorer with 4-23. Pre-championship The build-up to the opening of the championship was dominated by Birr and the possibility that they would retain their All-Ireland title and lead the all-time club roll of honour with four championships. Gary Hanniffy
Gary Hanniffy (born 4 April 1977) is an Irish hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Offaly senior hurling team. Hanniffy made his first appearance for the team during the 1997 National League and subsequently became a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement prior to the 2008 championship. During that time he won one All-Ireland medal and one National Hurling League (Division 2) medal. Hanniffy was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level Hanniffy is a four-time All-Ireland medalist with Birr. In addition to this he has also won six Leinster medals and eleven county club championship medals. Hanniffy's father, Declan and his brothers, Darren and Rory, also played hurling with Offaly. Carrick-on-Shannon () is the county town of County Leitrim in Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It is the largest town in the county. Lough Lene Gaels GAA
Lough Lene Gaels (Irish language, Irish: ''Gaeil Loch Léinn'') is a Gaelic Athletic Association club, based in Collinstown, County Westmeath, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Club history Lough Lene Gaels was founded as a hurling club in 1969 as a result of an amalgamation between the Collinstown, Fore, County Westmeath, Fore, Glenidan and Rickardstown hurling clubs. The club played its first match in the 1970 Westmeath Senior Hurling Championship and it resulted in a 5-17 to 5-1 win over Delvin. The club's first league title was won, in early 1972, in a postponed 1971 Junior hurling league final. Lough Lene Gaels defeated Raharney, by 4-10 to 2-3, in that final. The first championship title came in 1973 when the Junior title was won by defeating Castletown-Geoghegan 7-3 to 2-3. Longford
Longford () is the county town of County Longford in Ireland. It had a population of 10,952 at the 2022 census. Pearse Park is a Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA stadium in Longford, Ireland. It is the main grounds of Longford GAA, Longford's Gaelic football and hurling teams. In December 2011, the stadium was renamed Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, due to sponsorship with Glennon Brothers, a local timber firm. The ground originally had a capacity of 18,000, however in November 2011, this was cut to 8,000 for health and safety reasons. Following completion of works in recent years, the capacity currently sits at 10,000. The Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Leinster GAA Hurling Senior Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Leinster GAA, Leinster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion senior clubs in the province of Leinster in Ireland. Ballyforan () is a village in south County Roscommon, Ireland on the R363 road between Ballygar and Dysart. It lies beside the River Suck which separates County Roscommon and County Galway.
