2001–02 I Liga
The 2001–02 I liga (then known as the II liga) is the 54th season of the I liga, the second highest division in the Polish football league system since its establishment in 1949. The league is operated by the Polish Football Association (PZPN). The league is contested by 20 teams who competing for promotion to the 2002–03 Ekstraklasa. The regular season was played in a round-robin tournament. Each team played a total of 38 matches, half at home and half away. The champions and runners-up will receive automatic promotion while the 3rd- and 4th-placed teams will compete in Ekstraklasa's qualification play-offs. At the other end, the bottom six teams face automatic demotion to the II liga. The season began on 21 July 2001, and concluded on 5 May 2002. After the 23rd matchday the league will be on winter break between 3 December 2001 and 1 March 2002. I Liga
I liga (, ), currently named Betclic I liga due to its sponsorship by Betclic, is the men's second professional association football division of the Polish football league system, below the Ekstraklasa and above the II liga via promotion/relegation systems. It is run by the Polish Football Association (PZPN) since its inception on 30 May 1948. The league was renamed from Second League (II liga) to First League (I liga) in 2008. The Polish Football Association ( PZPN) is the governing body of association football in Poland. It organizes the Polish football leagues (without the ), the national cups, and manages the men's and women's national teams. It also runs the national futsal and beach soccer competitions. It is based in the Polish capital of Warsaw. Jagiellonia Białystok () is a Polish professional football club based in Białystok that plays in the Ekstraklasa, the top level of Polish football. The club was founded in 1920 by soldiers in the 42nd Infantry Regiment Reserve Battalion in Białystok. Jagiellonia play their home games at the Chorten Arena. ŁKS Łódź (''Łódzki Klub Sportowy Łódź''; ) is a Polish sports club based in Łódź. KS Górnik Polkowice is a Polish football club based in Polkowice, Poland. The club currently plays in III liga which is the fourth tier of Polish football. They competed in the top tier for one season in 2003–04. History KS Górnik Polkowice were founded in 1947. From 2003 until 2004, Górnik played their only season in Ekstraklasa, the top tier of Polish football. Ruch Radzionków is a Polish association football club based in Radzionków. As of the 2024–25 season, the club competes in the IV liga Silesia. Hetman Zamość is a football club based in Zamość, Poland. The club plays in the IV liga Lublin, which is the fifth tier of football in the country. The club was formed under the name Strzelec before later becoming Hetman Zamość.
