2001 Tour De Suisse
The 2001 Tour de Suisse was the 65th edition of the Tour de Suisse cycle race and was held from 19 June to 28 June 2001. The race started in Rust and finished in Lausanne. The race has no overall winner. Although Lance Armstrong originally won the event, he was stripped of the title due to violating anti-doping regulations. In 2012, the United States Anti-Doping Agency disqualified him from his results after 1 August 1998. The verdict was confirmed by the Union Cycliste Internationale. Wildhaus (High Alemannic: ''Wildhuus'') is a village and former municipality in the Toggenburg region of the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland, since 2010 by merger with Alt St. Johann part of the municipality of Wildhaus-Alt St. Johann. Oscar Camenzind (born 12 September 1971) is a former professional road racing cyclist from Switzerland. He became national road champion in 1997. In 1998 he won the World Road Championship and the Giro di Lombardia, in 2000 the Tour de Suisse and Liège–Bastogne–Liège in 2001. His career came to an abrupt end when he retired from pro cycling after a positive doping test in July 2004 for erythropoietin, leading into the Athens Olympics. Stefano Garzelli (born 16 July 1973) is an Italian former professional road racing cyclist, who competed as a professional between 1997 and 2013. The high point of his career was his overall win in the 2000 Giro d'Italia, after a close three-way competition with Gilberto Simoni and Francesco Casagrande. Dimitri Borisovich Konyshev (; born on February 18, 1966) is a retired Russian road bicycle racer. During Konyshev's 17-year professional cycling career, he won nine Grand Tour stages with at least one stage win in all three Grand Tours. He won four stages each in the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia, and one stage in the Vuelta a España. Konyshev was the first Soviet and Russian rider to win a medal in the Men's Road race at the UCI Road World Championships. He won a silver medal in 1989 behind Greg LeMond, and a bronze medal in 1992 behind Gianni Bugno and Laurent Jalabert. He was also the first Soviet and Russian rider to win a stage at the Giro d'Italia.
