2000 Kosovan Local Elections
Local elections were held throughout Kosovo on 28 October 2000, organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). This was the first local electoral cycle held in Kosovo after the start of the UNMIK mandate in 1999. In each municipality, elections were held for municipal assemblies under a system of proportional representation. The elected representatives in each jurisdiction were responsible for choosing an assembly president, who held the rank of mayor. The Serb community of Kosovo generally boycotted the vote. Kosovo, officially the Republic of Kosovo, is a landlocked country in Southeast Europe with International recognition of Kosovo, partial diplomatic recognition. Aqif Shehu
Aqif Shehu is a former politician in Kosovo and former footballer. He was a member of the parallel Republic of Kosova assembly in the 1990s and served as mayor of Gjakova from 2001 to 2007. For most of his time as an elected official, Shehu was a member of Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). Kosovska Mitrovica

Zvečan
Zvečan ( sr-Cyrl, Звечан) or Zveçan ( sq-definite, Zveçani) is a town and municipality located in the Mitrovica District in Kosovo. As of 2015, it has a population of 16,650 inhabitants. It covers an area of , and consists of a town and 35 villages. Zvečan is a part of North Kosovo, a region with an ethnic Serb majority. According to the 2013 Brussels Agreement, the municipality should become a part of the Community of Serb Municipalities once they are established. Zubin Potok
Zubin Potok ( sq-definite, Zubin Potoku; sr-cyr, Зубин Поток) is a town and municipality located in the Mitrovica District in Kosovo. As of 2015, it has an estimated population of 15,200 inhabitants. It covers an area of , and consists of the main town and 63 villages. Zubin Potok is a part of North Kosovo, a region with an ethnic Serb majority that functions largely autonomously from the remainder of ethnic Albanian-majority Kosovo. Leposavić ( sr-Cyrl, Лепосавић, ), also known as Leposaviq or Albanik ( sq-definite, Leposaviqi or ''Albaniku''), is a town and the northernmost municipality in the District of Mitrovica, Mitrovica District in Kosovo. Ramë Manaj
Ramë Manaj (born 24 July 1954) is a former politician in Kosovo. He was the mayor of Klina from 2001 to 2006 and was one of two deputy prime ministers of the Republic of Kosovo between 2008 and 2010. He was a member of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) during his time in public life and was the party's secretary-general from 2006 to 2010. Fadil Ferati
Fadil Ferati (10 May 1960 – 30 January 2010) was a Kosovar political leader, he was the Mayor of Istok and vice-president of Democratic League of Kosovo and he was widely known as a politician who never lost any election. Bernard Kouchner (born 1 November 1939) is a French politician and doctor. He is the co-founder of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Médecins du Monde. Muharrem Shabani
Muharrem Shabani (born 1949) is a politician in Kosovo. He served in the assembly of the Socialist Autonomous Province of Kosovo in 1989-90 and was a deputy speaker. He was prominent among a group of Albanian delegates that supported Kosovo becoming a republic within Yugoslavia and he played a key role in establishing a "parallel" assembly when the official parliament was shut down in July 1990. Ramadan Gashi
Ramadan Gashi (born 15 April 1958) is a politician in Kosovo. He was the mayor of Skenderaj from 2001 to 2007 and a member of the Assembly of Kosovo from 2008 to 2011.
