2000 CFL Season
The 2000 CFL season is considered to be the 47th season in modern-day Canadian football, although it is officially the 43rd Canadian Football League season. Attendance around the league had an increase of 5.6%, which went over '98 season figures as 1,718,312 fans filled their teams' stadium. Montreal Alouettes
The Montreal Alouettes (Canadian French, French: ''Les Alouettes de Montréal'') are a professional Canadian football team based in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 1946, the team has disbanded twice and been re-established thrice. CFL West Division
The West Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), its counterpart being the East Division (CFL), East Division. With a few exceptions, a senior men's football championship has been contested in Western Canada since 1911, and with a few additional exceptions the Western champion has played the Eastern champion for the Grey Cup. Grey Cup's Most Valuable Canadian
The Dick Suderman Trophy () for the Grey Cup's Most Valuable Canadian is awarded annually to the Canadian player deemed to have the best performance in the Grey Cup game, the championship of the Canadian Football League. This award is presented before the Grey Cup trophy is presented. The winner does not necessarily have to play for the Grey Cup winning team in order to qualify. The award was introduced at the 1971 Grey Cup, and the first winner was Dick Suderman, a Canadian defensive end. A year later, just six weeks before the playing of the 1972 Grey Cup, Suderman collapsed and died from a brain hemorrhage after playing a regular season game; the trophy was subsequently renamed in his honour. Sean Millington
Sean Millington (born February 1, 1968) is a Canadian former professional football fullback in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He currently does colour commentary for the CFL’s website and the CBC. He has also acted in several movies and television shows. Amateur career In 1984, Millington was a student at Carson Graham Secondary School. The rugby season had changed from fall to spring, so he decided to try out for football. The coach took notice of his size and suggested he start out as an offensive lineman. The following year Millington convinced the coach to let him try out at running back. After high school Millington attended Simon Fraser University, playing with the Simon Fraser Clan. After he graduated, he was trying out for the New York Giants. CFL East Division
The East Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League, its counterpart being the West Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the East Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues.
