1st Air And Air Defence Forces Command
The 1st Air and Air Defence Forces Command was a command of the Russian Air Force from 2009-2015. It was located at Voronezh and supervised air force operations in the Western Military District. It was created on 1 December 2009. Western Military District
The Western Military District (russian: Западный военный округ, Zapadnyy voyennyy okrug) is a military district of Russia. It is one of the five military districts of the Russian Armed Forces, with its jurisdiction primarily within the western central region of European Russia. The Western Military District was created as part of the 2008 military reforms, and founded by Presidential Decree №1144 signed on September 20, 2010, as an amalgamation of the Moscow Military District, Leningrad Military District and Kaliningrad Special Region. Severomorsk (russian: Северомо́рск), known as Vayenga () until April 18, 1951, is a closed town in Murmansk Oblast, Russia. Severomorsk is the main administrative base of the Russian Northern Fleet. The town is located on the coast of the Barents Sea along the Kola Bay northeast of Murmansk, the administrative centre of the oblast, to which it is connected by railway and a motorway. Petrozavodsk Airport (russian: Аэропорт Петрозаводск, krl, Petroskoin lendoazema, fi, Petroskoin lentoasema; ; ex: Besovets, Petrozavodsk-2) is a joint civil-military airport in Russia located northwest of Petrozavodsk in Besovets, Shuya Rural Settlement (municipality).
