The 1999–2000 Élite Ligue season was the 79th season of the Élite Ligue, the top level of ice hockey in France. Ligue Magnus
The Ligue Magnus, currently known as Synerglace Ligue Magnus for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's division of the French ice hockey pyramid, established in 1906. The league operated under a variety of names before taking that of its championship trophy, the Magnus Cup, in 2004. The trophy was in turn named for Frenchman and IIHF founder Louis Magnus. Format 12 teams play a 44-game regular season. The schedule is fully balanced and there are no geographic conferences. Regulation wins are worth 3 points, as per international rules. The top 8 teams qualify for the Magnus Cup playoffs, with all series contested in a best-of-seven format. The remaining 4 teams play a 6-game round-robin, at the end of which the last-place team is relegated. The Magnus Cup champions qualify for the following season's Champions Hockey League. Dragons De Rouen
Rouen Hockey Élite 76 (also known as the Dragons de Rouen (Rouen Dragons)) is a French ice hockey team based in Rouen playing in the Ligue Magnus. The team was founded in 1982 and plays home games at the Île Lacroix. History Only 3 years after its founding, the club, then named RHC (Rouen Hockey Club), reached the French elite championship in 1985. It has remained at this level since, being the club with the second-most consecutive years at this level, behind Amiens. Rouen won its first French league title in 1990, starting a run of 7 consecutive finals with 5 league titles, winning the title in 1990 and 1992 through 1995, while finishing runner-up in 1991 and 1996. During that era, the club enjoyed much success, participating in European tournaments, and winning the European League Cup in 1996, and the Atlantic league in 1995 and 1996. The Association des Sports de Glisse d'Angers is a French professional ice hockey team based in Angers playing in the Ligue Magnus. The team currently use the name of "Les Ducs d'Angers". The team's mascot is an eagle-owl, or grand duc (literally ''great duke'') in French, but its name is primarily intended as a reference to the prestigious Dukes of Anjou lineage. Anglet Hormadi Élite
Anglet Hormadi Pays Basque is an ice hockey team in Anglet, France. They play in the Ligue Magnus, the highest level of ice hockey in France. The club was runner-up (Ligue Magnus) in 2001. Due to Anglet's location in the French Basque Country, they also participated in the Superliga Espanola de Hockey Hielo, the top level Spanish league in 2007–08 and 2008–09. The Jets de Viry-Essonne were an ice hockey team in Viry-Chatillon, France. The club was founded in 1951 as the hockey department of the US Métro sports club, and took on the name OHC Paris-Viry in 1971.
