1998 Seattle Seahawks Season
The 1998 Seattle Seahawks season was the franchise's 23rd season in the National Football League (NFL), the 23rd playing their home games at the Kingdome, and the fourth and final under head coach head coach Dennis Erickson. They matched their 8–8 record from 1997, but a late-season loss to the New York Jets came due to a controversial call when Jets quarterback Vinny Testaverde ran in a touchdown but was downed short of the goal line yet the play was ruled a touchdown; the loss helped knock Seattle to 6–7. They won the next two games but a loss to the Denver Broncos in the final week saw them finish 8–8 and out of the playoffs for the tenth consecutive season. AFC West
The American Football Conference – Western Division or AFC West is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The division comprises the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Bobby Shaw
Bobby T. Shaw II (born April 23, 1975) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the California Golden Bears, earning third-team All-American honors in 1997. Shaw played for five NFL teams: Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, and San Diego Chargers. Shaw attended Galileo High School and attended the University of California, Berkeley. He graduated from Cal as the school's all-time leader in receptions with 180 catches for 2,731 yards and 27 touchdowns. In 1996, Steve Mariucci became the Golden Bears' head coach. Shaw prospered under Mariucci, with 12 catches for 168 yards in a game against UCLA and three touchdowns scores in a 48-42 triple-overtime win over Oregon State. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that typically lines up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the Guard (American football), offensive guards; however, he may also line up opposite one of the offensive Tackle (gridiron football position), tackles. Ahman Rashad Green (; born February 16, 1977) is an American former professional football running back who played 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, earning second-team All-American honors in 1997.
