1997 UEFA Champions League Final
The 1997 UEFA Champions League final was a football match played at the Olympiastadion in Munich on 28 May 1997 to determine the winner of the 1996–97 UEFA Champions League. The match was contested by Borussia Dortmund of Germany and defending champions Juventus of Italy. Borussia Dortmund won 3–1 with goals from Karl-Heinz Riedle and Lars Ricken; Juventus' only goal was scored by Alessandro Del Piero. This was the third consecutive final featuring a defending champions, all of whom lost to their opponents. Route to the final In their first semi-final in Europe's premier tournament since 1964, Dortmund defeated Manchester United, who themselves had not reached that stage since 1969. Júlio César da Silva (born 8 March 1963), usually known as Júlio César, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Throughout his career, he played with multiple teams in Brazil and Europe, and also represented the Brazil national team at the 1986 FIFA World Cup, and at the 1987 Copa América. Andreas Möller
Andreas Möller (born 2 September 1967) is a German former professional Association football, footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He is the head of the youth department at Eintracht Frankfurt. From 1985 to 2004 Möller played in 429 Bundesliga games for Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04. Jürgen Kohler (born 6 October 1965) is a German former professional footballer and manager, who played as a centre-back. He is currently the U17 manager of Bonner SC. 1993 UEFA Cup Final
The 1993 UEFA Cup Final was played on 5 May 1993 and 19 May 1993 between Juventus of Italy and Borussia Dortmund of Germany. Juventus won 3–1 and 3–0 to record a 6–1 aggregate victory, a record aggregate score for a UEFA Cup final. The fixture would be repeated in the 1997 Champions League Final, when the result would be reversed, with Dortmund running out victors the second time around.
