1995 NASCAR SuperTruck Series Presented By Craftsman
The 1995 NASCAR SuperTruck Series presented by Craftsman was the inaugural season of the NASCAR SuperTruck Series. The season began on February 5, 1995, and ended on October 28. Mike Skinner of Richard Childress Racing won the championship. Prior to and after the season, NASCAR conducted seven exhibition races. This was the first year that Dodge ran in NASCAR in any capacity since 1985. Teams and drivers Schedule The 1995 SuperTruck Series presented by Craftsman schedule consisted of twenty races, at eighteen tracks in fifteen states. In addition, an exhibition race was run following the end of the season at the Homestead-Miami Speedway as a demonstration of the trucks' suitability for larger racetracks. NASCAR SuperTruck Series
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is a pickup truck racing series owned and operated by the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), and is the only series in NASCAR to race production pickup truck-based stock cars. The series is one of three national divisions of NASCAR, ranking as the third tier behind the second-tier NASCAR Xfinity Series and the top level NASCAR Cup Series and is also the youngest NASCAR-sanctioned national racing competition to date. The 2023 season was the first with Stanley Black & Decker holding the series' naming rights. Samuel Alan "Slammin Sammy" Swindell (born October 26, 1955) is an American sprint car racing, sprint car driver. He is a three-time champion and four-time runner-up in the World of Outlaws series; he has also competed in NASCAR and Champ Car competition and attempted to qualify for the 1987 Indianapolis 500. Career Swindell is a three-time World of Outlaws champion. He won his first two titles in 1981 and 1982 driving the famous Nance Speed Equipment #1n house car. Gary Collins (born January 24, 1960) is an American stock car racing driver. Now retired, he competed primarily in the NASCAR Winston West Series, however he also ran selected races in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and was among the drivers selected to compete in the first NASCAR exhibition race held in Australia in 1988. Bob Brevak (born March 28, 1947) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He was the champion of the ARCA RE/MAX Series in 1990. Racing career Brevak began racing in the United States Auto Club (USAC)'s stock car series between 1972 and 1983. He earned his first USAC Stock Car pole position at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in 1979. He earned his second pole at Winchester Speedway in 1981. While competing in USAC, he began racing in Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) events in 1982 including some events run under dual sanction plus a few American Speed Association (ASA) events. Derrike Wayne Cope (born November 3, 1958) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He is best known for his surprise win in the 1990 Daytona 500. He last competed in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 15 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Rick Ware Racing in an alliance with his own StarCom Racing. Cope also was team manager of StarCom. As of 2022, he is the last driver to compete in at least one NASCAR Cup Series race in five consecutive decades (1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s).
