1994 California Elections
California's state elections were held November 8, 1994. Necessary Partisan primary, primary elections were held on June 7. Up for election were all the seats of the California State Assembly, 20 seats of the California Senate, seven constitutional officers, all the seats of the California Board of Equalization, as well as votes on retention of two California Supreme Court, Supreme Court justices and various appeals court judges. Ten Initiatives and referendums in the United States, ballot measures were also up for approval. Municipal offices were also included in the election. Percentage Point
A percentage point or percent point is the unit (measurement), unit for the difference (mathematics), arithmetic difference between two percentages. For example, moving up from 40 percent to 44 percent is an increase of 4 percentage points (although it is a 10-percent increase in the quantity being measured, if the total amount remains the same). Cathie M. Wright (May 18, 1929 – April 14, 2012) was an American politician from California and a member of the Republican party. Thomas John Umberg (born September 25, 1955) is an American politician currently serving in the California State Senate. A Democrat, he represents the 34th district, which encompasses parts of northern Orange County and a small portion of Long Beach. Tony Miller (born June 28, 1948) is an American attorney and former California Secretary of State. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as Chief Deputy Secretary of State from 1981 to 1994 and then California Secretary of State from 1994 to 1995.
