1993 Patriot League Men's Basketball Tournament
The 1993 Patriot League men's basketball tournament was played at Davis Gym in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania after the conclusion of the 1992–93 regular season. Number two seed Holy Cross defeated top seed , 98–73 in the championship game, to win its first Patriot League Tournament title. The Crusaders earned an automatic bid to the 1993 NCAA tournament as #13 seed in the East region. Format All eight league members participated in the tournament, with teams seeded according to regular season conference record. Play began with the quarterfinal round. Davis Gym is an indoor athletics facility on the campus of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. It is currently home to Bucknell Bison volleyball and wrestling. Lewisburg is a borough in Union County, Pennsylvania, United States, south by southeast of Williamsport and north of Harrisburg. 1992–93 Holy Cross Crusaders Men's Basketball Team
The 1992–93 Holy Cross Crusaders men's basketball team represented the College of the Holy Cross during the 1992–93 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Crusaders, led by head coach George Blaney, played their home games at the Hart Center and were members of the Patriot League. They finished the season 23–7, 12–2 in Patriot League play to finish in second place. They defeated Army, Fordham, and Bucknell to win the Patriot League tournament and earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. George Blaney
George R. Blaney (born November 12, 1939) is an American former basketball player and coach. Blaney played high school basketball at St. Peter's Preparatory School in Jersey City. After playing basketball at the College of the Holy Cross during the late 1950s and early 1960s, the 6'1" Blaney spent one season with the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association. He served as the head basketball coach at Stonehill College from 1967 to 1969 and Dartmouth College from 1969 to 1971. From 1972 to 1994, he served as head coach of Holy Cross, compiling a 357–276 overall record. He then became head coach at Seton Hall University, where he led the team to the NIT twice before being fired following the 1996–97 season. In 2000, he began serving as an assistant head coach at the University of Connecticut. Rob Feaster
Robert M. Feaster (born May 15, 1973) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Holy Cross before playing professionally in Germany, Argentina, Australia and France, as well as playing two seasons in the United States minor leagues. College career A native of Chicago, Feaster played high school basketball at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois. Feaster's college career at Holy Cross began in 1991–92. In 29 games, he averaged 8.0 points and 3.2 rebounds and was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year. He followed that campaign with a sophomore season in which the Crusaders placed second in the conference regular season, won the Patriot League tournament, and earned a berth in the 1993 NCAA tournament. The Patriot League is a collegiate athletic conference comprising private institutions of higher education and two United States service academies based in the Northeastern United States. Outside the Ivy League, it is among the most selective groups of higher education institutions in the NCAA, and has a very high student-athlete graduation rate for both the NCAA graduation success rate and the federal graduation rate.
