Mike Leavitt
Michael Okerlund Leavitt (born February 11, 1951) is an American politician who served as the 20th United States secretary of health and human services from 2005 to 2009 and the 10th Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency from 2003 to 2005. A member of the Republican Party, he served as the 14th governor of Utah from 1993 to 2003. Leavitt started his career in 1972 and worked in the insurance and risk management industry until 1992. From 1984 until his election as Governor of Utah in 1992, he was the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of The Leavitt Group. Olene Walker
Olene Walker (née Smith; November 15, 1930 – November 28, 2015) was an American politician who served as the 15th governor of Utah from 2003 to 2005, succeeding the governorship after Mike Leavitt's resignation. A member of the Republican Party, Walker was Utah's first female lieutenant governor of Utah as well the first and currently only female governor. She is also the shortest serving Governor of Utah, serving for only a year and two months. Early life and education Walker was born Olene Smith in Ogden, Utah, in 1930 to Thomas Ole Smith and Nina (née Hadley) Smith, the second of their five children. She graduated from Weber High School. Merrill Cook
Merrill Alonzo Cook (born May 6, 1946) is an American politician and businessman who served as a Republican Party member in the United States House of Representatives from Utah. Early life and career Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Cook was the son of scientist Melvin A. Cook who pioneered the development of slurry explosives. He graduated from East High School in 1964 and the University of Utah in 1969 and earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1971. He was hired as a budget analyst by Arthur D. Little, Inc. and in 1973 founded Cook Slurry Company, a mining explosives manufacturer, of which he served as president and chief executive.
