Towson Center
Towson Center is Towson University's 5,250-seat multi-purpose arena, in Towson, Maryland. The arena opened in 1976. It was home to the Towson Tigers Men's and Women's basketball teams, the Volleyball team, and the Gymnastics team from 1976 to 2013. On 16 October 1979 Towson Center hosted a concert by the rock'n'roll band AC/DC as part of its 'Highway to Hell' US tour with an attendance of 4,175. In January 2011, it was formally announced that Towson Center would undergo a comprehensive renovation as part of the development of the new SECU Arena, which opened in 2013. Towson () is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place in Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. The population was 55,197 as of the 2010 census. Terry Truax
Terry Truax (June 10, 1945 – February 15, 2015) was an American basketball coach, best known for his tenure as head coach for Towson University from 1983 to 1997. Truax played college basketball at Maryland before embarking on his coaching career. Truax was an assistant to Morgan Wootten at DeMatha Catholic High School in 1969–70. Marvin Kurk Lee (born June 3, 1967) is a retired American professional basketball player. He spent one season in the NBA, for the New Jersey Nets in 1990–91. He won three straight Finnish championships as a member of Torpan Pojat from 1996 to 1998 and was named the Korisliiga Foreign player of the year in 1997. The 1990 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament involved 64 schools playing in single-elimination play to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I men's college basketball. It began on March 15, 1990, and ended with the championship game on April 2 in Denver, Colorado. A total of 63 games were played. UNLV, coached by Jerry Tarkanian, won the national title with a 103–73 victory in the final game over Duke, coached by Mike Krzyzewski. In doing so, UNLV set the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament record for largest margin of victory in a championship game. Devin Boyd
Devin Lemuel Boyd (born September 13, 1970) is an American former basketball player known for his college career at Towson University from 1988 to 1993. He was a two-time all-conference performer and the 1991 East Coast Conference Player of the Year as a junior. Through the 2021–22 season, Boyd is still Towson's all-time leader for career points (2,000) and assists (438) and is second all-time in steals (264). College career Boyd is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and attended the Walbrook High School. He earned Second Team All-Metro honors as a junior and then All-Metro First Team as a senior. Towson University offered him a basketball scholarship, and so in 1988 Boyd enrolled to play for the Tigers.
